It's been very quiet from the RangersMedia Erskine Fund so far this season.
But don't worry - we've already renewed our Veterans' Season Tickets once again for this season (4 for Erskine Veterans Care Home and 4 for Hollybush House  Combat Stress Treatment  Centre).
They all enjoyed their first league game of the season  at the weekend, and they'll be at the game tonight too.
Let's hope they have something to cheer about!

Such sad day to hear the news about Jimmy our condolences will go out to his family.
I hope it doesn't affect the team like when Walters passing happened ,we were shite against the sheep. Hope it makes us stronger and destroy those German fucks. Management of the players is going to be crucial the next coming days. Do it for Jimmy🙌🇬🇧🇬🇧

Stayed in The Spinnaker in Gourock 2 weeks ago. Plenty of positive chats for me, my brother and my 2 boys who all took great pride in wearing something Rangers.
    Nothing negative at all.
Took the opportunity to drive through Port Glasgow to see the area I was brought up in. Where are all the rotten tenaments? The Gibbs Hill is no more!
Not many scum tops in evidence either.

I watched a few guys with it post Gulf.  The degeneration of the sufferers is absolutely horrendous.  It hurts like hell to see anyone with it.  The guy in the link was a guy I served with and was running around with us in the deserts of Iraq.

Don't worry though - the action is all at my end for a change.
    1.  Secure 12 free Stadium Passes from Rangers Charity Foundation, for Erskine Bishopton Residents 21/05/19 - Done
    2. Book and pay for 12 Argyle Lunches (and 12 pints) for the Residents for after the stadium tour - Done
    3.  Hassle Erskine Staff for those photos they promised me ages ago - Not done
    4. Confirm all 7 Residents who asked for a new Rangers Shirt have now received them.  Any photos?
    5.  Confirm that Rangers FC will be happy to renew the 2 free Season Tickets that they provide for Erskine each season at our request.  They are of course more than happy to support us supporting them! - 2 Season Tickets now renewed.
    6.  Renew our other 4 Erskine Veteran Season Tickets, and our 4 Combat Stress Season tickets. That will be a couple of thousand quid.  It's a good job our Members have been so generous with their donations all season, so we already have that covered.
    7. Sign those 8 Season tickets up for the CCCS for all Home Cup Games and Friendlies - Meaning that we will then be reliant upon donations from our members next season to pay for all those cup tickets!
    8.  We won't need to worry about the 4 Erskine Bishopton season tickets, because they are now fully looked after by Club 1872, so they'll look after renewing those 4 and signing them up for all home cup games & friendlies
btw - I thought I'd better check with Combat Stress just to see if they still wanted their 4 season tickets.  Here's the reply...
    So that's good news.
    9.  £100 donated to Rangers Charity Foundation Raffle in support of RCF Armed Forces Fund.  You can support it too.  Here's the link... http://forum.rangersmedia.co.uk/topic/322323-win-a-signed-morelos-shirt/
    10.  I haven't heard if there's going to be another "Champions League Final" night at Ibrox.  I do hope so, cos it's always a braw night oot!.  If there is one, then we'll need to scrape up another few hundred quid to send the Veterans along, because they certainly enjoy that night, and it's also one of their most fruitful sources of signed shirts.

So yeah, a busy time coming up. And probably several things I've forgotten.

There was a considerable blip in the anti-Alfredo Morelos narrative currently being driven by sections of the media in Scotland. Sadly, the predictable one-way traffic was not brought to a sudden halt by an ex Rangers player speaking out, no, Barry Ferguson and Lee McCulloch were too busy acquiescing and adding to that negative narrative with criticism of their own.
In a week which showed Kirk Broadfoot raking his studs down Alfredo’s Achilles heel, you might have thought the onslaught would abate for a few days – but alas, this is Scotland we are talking about.
Instead it was left to Chris Jack of the Evening Times to write an article,

    https://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/17510914.how-alfredo-morelos-has-gone-from-medellin-to-Rangers-multi-million-pound-man/

not only defending Alfredo, but in addition, humanising this young man so many have sought to dehumanise with comments such as “buffalo brains “and relating his upbringing to something from the Narcos Netflix series.
Jack highlights a young man brought up in extreme poverty, who has never forgotten his roots, who remains respectful to his parents and the country of his birth, and for whom the lessons learned from such a harsh upbringing remain a driver towards success. Perhaps in any other country such a young man would be seen as a positive role model rather than the devil incarnate.
But the comments of Ferguson and McCulloch really rankle – their adding to the anti-Morelos narrative serve to give it a sense of normality, when in fact it is anything but normal – it is  in fact, abnormal. And no amount of ex Rangers players selling themselves to the highest bidder should allow us to lose sight of this fact. It has been a concerted campaign to demonise our prize asset and the likes of Ferguson and McCulloch, with their strong Rangers antecedents, adding their weight to the millstone being placed round Alfredo’s neck serve to give this concerted campaign a sense of credibility.
Ferguson and McCulloch are by no means the worst, Kris Boyd demonstrating his ability to adapt to the anti-Rangers agenda with considerable aplomb following a series of articles and comments criticising his former club. His lack of consistency in his arguments demonstrate Boyd realises which side of the bread requires to be buttered to ensure a favourable return.
You make your bed and you lie in it. I hope we as fans and in particular RSC’s will remember those who have served the dirty pieces of silver some sections of the media will pay in order to provide a sense of balance and credibility to that which is unbalanced and lacks credibility. Hopefully the club itself will add some solidarity when the same individuals go begging for tickets.
“To be a Ranger is to sense the sacred trust of upholding all that such a name means in this shrine of football. They must be true in their conception of what the Ibrox tradition seeks from them. No true Ranger has ever failed in the tradition set him.
