  1. Can you imaging what would happen if in a European game fans invaded the pitch and attacked opposing players. They would be banned for years. Of course, the SFA are in a difficult position as they were responsible for the security at the game but so were UEFA when we were banned after Barcelona.

If the SFA let Hibs of with a fine or some paltry sentence, they will show that they are incapable of running the game. UEFA need to be having a quiet word in their ear .

  2. An alternative to our possession football is to follow what was aimed at Mourinho:

    1. The game is won by the team who commit fewer errors.

    2. Football favours whoever provokes more errors in the opposition.

    3. Away from home, instead of trying to be superior to the opposition, it’s better to encourage their mistakes.

    4. Whoever has the ball is more likely to make a mistake.

    5. Whoever renounces possession reduces the possibility of making a mistake.

    6. Whoever has the ball has fear.

    7. Whoever does not have it is thereby stronger.

I'd rather have the MW philosophy than being frightened of making mistakes.

  3. Please God get him tae fuck the day THIS season ends.

Ibrox will be deserted after another season of McCoist's shite.

If we go through next season unbeaten, win the league by 40 points yet play poorly, do you really think that Ibrox will be deserted? I believe that the test next season will be pure and simple to win the league, even dare I say, by winning ugly.

  4. Things were going so well. Won every game. Scoring with ease. Decent disciple on the park. Then came Boxing Day.

Despite the bounce back against Dunfermline, the last 4 games has seen us collect 9 yellow, 1 second yellow and 1 red card, scoring only 7 goals. Consequently, we are no longer the good boys in the Fair play league and have fallen to 3rd place. Even Forfar are now above us!

At least we're 20 points clear in the league that matters.

  5. Things are settling down now and we have a comfortable lead. While we are now picking up the odd booking in most games, compared to the others we are well behaved.

It seems that Dunfermline maintain a semblance of good behaviour against everyone but us. A third of their points have been against us (in only 2 games).post-63403-0-40724000-1388512530_thumb.j

  6. Sometimes I despair at the reactions of some folk.

Mandela moved from peaceful protest to armed struggle and ended up an inclusive figure who talked to his former enemies. There are some people who seem to be saying that the period of his life that was the armed struggle defined him and therefore he should be condemned out of hand.

There is a big debate out there on 'freedom fighter or terrorist?' and it's not an easy question to answer. Those who are saying 'once a terrorist always a terrorist' are presumably saying that taking up arms is always wrong and that we must learn to live with our enemies. Fine and dandy in current day UK but it does not always translate to other times and places.

I thought that we Rangers fans prided ourselves on our good sense and dignity. Let's keep this and not behave in any way that will harm our Club.

  7. At the beginning of the season we were very much more sinned against than sinners. After 4 games we had only 2 bookings and 13 yellow and 2 red against us. This now seems to be settling down and while we are still the team with the least number of bookings (and the only team not to have had a man sent off) Dunfermline and getting quite close to us. In their last 2 games, Dunfermline have had 8 yellow and 2 red against them while only getting 1 yellow themselves.

Strangely, while Ayr have been knocking 6 bells out of the opposition, they have not met with a reaction, only 17 bookings and 2 reds against them.

Anyway, enough of my observations, here is the updated league for all to see.

  8. With all this talk of "not getting what we voted for" and minorities not being represented, nobody has pointed out that that in the 2011 Scottish Parliament election, the SNP did not win a majority of the votes cast.

The electoral system that is often talked of as being proportional representation gave the SNP 53% of the seats while they had around 45% of the votes.

  9. As we approach a third of the way through the league, we can be pretty satisfied of where we are:

    100% record

Highest goals tally in Scottish Football

(nearly) lowest goals conceded (damn Hamilton)

Best disciplinary record in SPFL1 (don't have stats for the other leagues)

The only team in SPFL1 not to have had a man sent off

    post-63403-0-18134200-1383925231_thumb.j

Looking ahead, we have new targets in our sights:

How long can we maintain the 100% record?

How many goals can we get in the season? If we keep up what we've done to date, 150 goals could be achieved.

Can we overtake Hamilton to claim the best defensive record? - surely a matter of time.

Can we go through the season without having a man sent off?

How far will we go in the cup?

Lots to look forward to. We are the People.

  10. While our march on the title continues, not a great day for us in the Fair Play League. 7 bookings make it much tighter, especially when Dunfermline continue to be goody goodies. However we are still top of the Fair Play League and now hold the record this season of the most bookings in any game in the SPFL1.post-63403-0-18862700-1382269894_thumb.j

  11. Apart from the improvement in our play, what’s impressed me this season is our discipline on the field. Maybe it’s understandable that when you are playing well it’s easier to take flak from the opponents without retaliating.

That got me thinking that if there was a ‘fair play league’ we would be well ahead in that so I looked at the match stats, got out my spreadsheet and produced a league. I’ve given 1 point for a yellow, an extra point for a player getting a second yellow and 3 points for a straight red.

Also, I’ve given the no of cards against so a points difference of -5 would mean that your opponents have scored 5 more points that you )ie had more bookings)

Following this scoring, the league after week 4 is as follows:post-63403-0-65759400-1378915631_thumb.j
