you just can't help yourself. If this board invested 100million you would still find a negative. Your life must be boring if that's your outlook constantly
Nothing negative in what I said...clean the spooge from your eye and read it again

Good piece of business for another keeper and keeps the war chest full for the next signing.
-
Junkies drawing at half time with raith!!!
They struggled in the two games before us .....they had to go into extra time in both games to get 4 pts.

But he didn't cost 10million. King oot!!!!!
War chest is still full.
Now time for his to show what he has to offer given his lack of play at Donnie Rovers.

Because it looks cheap and nasty. Rangers finances will improve without this crap happening to our tops.
We lost 9.2M last year and 8.5M this year. While some of our costs have decreased with the Director's remuneration, we seem to be (from statements from this Board) increasing costs for non-playing personnel. In addition, we expect salaries for playing personnel to rise next year so any bit of revenue/profit will help so that we don't become dependent (once again) on European money to break-even each year.

I did notice that, to be fair.
The new boards on the touch line caught my eye though. Looked very smart
On TV, you see the electronic boards primarily.

He put the result of a game we were cruising in doubt as a result of his lack of professionalism. Shouldn't have given the ref the opportunity.
I agree, shows a lack of maturity and understanding of the game

The club continues to operate on a loss so why not get the additional revenue.

Halliday's red card won't be rescinded because of the kick before he stuck the nipple on him, but that wee Fyvie cunt should be banned for simulation.
Yes. 100% on that. The kick will be the reason this is not rescinded.
-
why wasnt the hivs player booked for the initial challenge on Haliday?
Never, don't see why he should be fined.
Halladay retaliated with the wee kick and then bumped him with his chest. Could see the kick being the reason for the red so I would be surprised if the red card is rescinded. Would also be surprised to not see Fyvie get a suspension for faking the headbutt.

Loans are cheaper than transfer fees and wages.

Really? I thought he had good game. He was better 2nd half when up against Mcgregor.
I thought it wasn't bad today either. On the second goal, he saw Holt Motion that he wanted the ball and it was delivered nicely. He calls issues in the second half with McGregor

Only within the limits of Res 10 as caveated by ashley!
Actuallly, that's been the rules the past few years with regards to Resolution 10.

When was the last match we got a freekick right on the edge of the box? It seems to me teams are making sure any tackles are perfect so as not to give away free kicks, or they don't tackle and wait for the ball through.
I'd be surprised if Hibs gave away any tomorrow. We need to take this into account. Try and dribble through the middle rather than pass it through.
I think Hibs will defend with 9 behind the ball and look to hit Cummings and Malonga with the long ball.

Mate text saying team meant to be set up 4-1-3-2
If true the only way I can see it fitting is with something like:
Wes
Tav. Kiernan. Wilson. Wallace
Ball
Holt. Halliday. Law
Mckay or Miller. Waghorn
Wasn't that how we lined up against Hibs in Edinburgh in November when they won 2-1? On the attack, it ended up being a 3-5-3 with Kiernan, Wilson and Ball in the back.

Currently we cant have a new share issue so loans for equity seems the only way to increase funds into the club .. is it not ??
As for transfer dealings, surely that is the discretion of the manager .. is it not?
Ace....that was something mentioned last week by Paul Murray and it isn't true at all. You do not have to be listed on a public exchange to do a share issue....since that is the method of selling equity in privately-held companies. Since we are not listed on any public exchanges, I would consider the club now "privately held".
Weenielly...a guy with extensive experience over in the UK with these types of matters confirmed the above. Those rules are the same over here in the US and Canada as well.

I broadly agree, but first rule of downsizing is you cut the revenue generating staff last. With retail revenues being volatile, other commercial revenue is vital and it does make you wonder how they planned to plug those income gaps if we only had three people doing the job when it took 8x that previously; efficiency savings can only go so far...
I agree on the part in Bold.
That being said, retail and commercial revenues are really a small part of the revenue behind season ticket sales, Player Sales and TV/Prize money from European football. It wasn't like retail and commercial revenue (actually the profits after you subtract the costs associated with those revenue streams) were going to make or break us (and still won't in the future). I suspect that playing in the lower levels of Scottish football impacted our ability to bring in the same types of revenue per event than the club was receiving when it was back in the SPL and playing Champions League football.
As far as taking 8X the personnel, probably a leap to go that far. From what was stated (and from what I observed when I was over and went to the ticket office to pick up my stuff) by some, a lot of the processes in place were antiquated and probably took many folks (at a higher cost) to perform duties that at other clubs, takes fewer folks. The key is that unlike our last Board, those other clubs made the investment in technology to replace personnel and they had payback in Year 2-3 in most cases.
-
Cuts only had to be made because a bunch of scumbags, who will hopefully soon have deserved criminal records, trousered mountains of cash from our club.
No..cuts had to be made because there were cuts to revenue streams (reduced ticket prices, no European money, reduced TV money and no SPL money). The cuts were long overdue given the financial situation under SDM and the over-reliance of Champions League money to pay all of the bills. Hopefully the lessons were learned and these mistakes are not repeated.
-
This was our problem as we didn't cut our expenditure when in the lower divisions as we had a wage bill only 2nd to the Tims and a manager who was on EPL wages.
Yep...a lot of "living beyond your means" has went on at the club the last 5-7 years.
-
Jeez, I knew that cuts had been made but commercial down to three people is brutal.
You've got to wonder what the plan was for finance if the old board had slashed the commercial team down to the bone.
Makes you shudder to think about it TBH.
Given that we were relegated to the bottom of Scottish football, cuts had to be made to the overhead due to the decrease in revenue streams from reduced ticket prices, lack of prize money, lack of TV money, and lack of money from the SPL. If cuts weren't made to correspond to the decrease in revenue streams, I would have been more pissed.
I just hope that if we start to increase the overhead costs (which is sounds like we have done that) for non-playiing personnel or staff, that we expect a return on investment from that increase in salaries......

Hoosier we have two very attack minded full backs. Problem I see is not their ability to get back fast enough but when they go forward rarely does someone, a midfielder or wide player track back to cover the gap. Aird, for all his faults was good at that, McKay is the opposite. Not comparing the two, only one aspect of their game.
I agree with the part in the bold but I just don't see how a holding mid can cover the flanks (where we are being countered) in a 4-3-3 tactically since that center mid also has to be involved in the attack. To me, the issue isn't so much a player issue of needing a "defensive mid" because in a 4-3-3, we don't have a spot for a defensive mid. In a 4-4-2, yes, we would have a holding mid and a attacking center mid. Instead of this being a player issue, this is a tactical issue that MW has to adjust by adapting his attack to 7 players instead of getting 8 in the attack and then facing a counter situation where there are two 1v1 matchups with our centerbacks. Either way, the outside fullbacks or the outside mids have to get back especially when the play is to the opposite side.
-
CBS are trying to break up attacks and are getting caught out of position. A midfielder breaking up attacks would allow them to sit deeper and be better positioned to deal with high balls.
I get what you are saying but it seems to me that the majority of balls being played by our opponents in the counter are more diagonal versus straight down the middle. The opponents are playing to the areas where our fullbacks should be and then creating 1v1 matchups with a striker and winger against two slower CBs. Unless the holding midfielder is prepared to chase sideline to sideline, I don't see the use given where opponents are playing the ball. If you are going to drop a mid out of the attack as a holding mid, why wouldn't you just have one of our outside defenders stay back to provide that third defender?
While I like Lee Wallace, I think his lack of foot speed is a problem in that he cannot get back to defend fast enough.

Shut up ya fucking banger.
The folk you're having a go at didn't become Rangers fans cause they wrote to clubs trying to ponce gear off them
You can stay in yer fucking loon tune world and continue to feel aw moist because you bought Huston's old seat, despite the fact he spent the season in bar 72, I'm sure he's fucking distraught
I will take you seriously the minute you quit taking it up the ass

Whatever floats your boat.
Again, nothing negative here especially with Cammy Bell's injured past and the neglect of the Academy from the McCoist days. Comes from a similar league and has size that we don't currently have with Wes.
