Surely if this was such a steal, there were other teams involved in some sort of bidding war that in itself, drives up the price. If Lewis was such a terrific prospect with tons of potential, EPL teams would have trumped Brentford's offer in a heartbeat.

Unless it happens we end up paying an unusually high percentage of their wages then I really can't see what the problem is, Somers as much as he's a prick is doing what he suggested would be done with the money. Albeit loan deals rather than actual signings. However if these players turn out to be the difference between promotion or another year in the championship then they'll be well worth it. Also we couldn't possibly sign players with our managerial position.

What would be different mate? We would still be using money we received as a loan to pay for loan players. I don't see the difference.

Hearts and Hibs have shown us what we should have done in 2012. Blooded a good few of the youth, maybe kept a couple of experienced players and bought wisely from the lower divisions as there's some decent players there who know and can operate at that level. Instead we've been hamstrung with overpaid players.

No point blaming the board over this. With the club being starved of funds and fans being driven away by Allys pishy football they just don't have the cash.
