  1. Sorry, but this is where your argument falls down - they ARE different to everyone else in the country. They are paid a high wage and enjoy a privileged lifestyle which we would all jump at the chance of having if we were good enough. In return, they have been asked to follow some simple rules to allow football to continue during Covid. From past mistakes (by teammates and players from other clubs) it is crystal clear that failing to follow these rules puts the whole game in doubt, is likely to have knock-on effects for their teammates and at worst could stop the title run. It's simple, the consequences of them deciding not to follow the rules for their own selfish reasons are MUCH, MUCH greater than you or I doing the same. However, on balance, I think a reprimand and maybe a spell out on loan to think about what they have done is about right (a bit like sending a child to their room). If they are going to make it as professionals they will see this as an opportunity to impress the gaffer; if not they will end up fucking up their careers as many before them have done. Either way it would be better knowing sooner rather than later what they are made of.
  2. Whatever? Any chance you could get the Management to buy a couple of new players with this £3m?
  3. I'm not saying he hasn't breached his contract - just that a breach is not NECESSARILY grounds for dismissal.
  4. Breach of contract is not necessarily grounds for dismissal. It would be far worse for the Club to sack someone and then find themselves involved in a legal case for unfair dismissal. I assume over the last few days the Club will have made sure they are doing everything by the book. Three weeks suspension is a harsh penalty and may trigger JB walking, but so be it. It appears he has stepped way out of line and needs some time to reflect.
  5. Can't see the link with 'the media up here' myself. This story was written by an English based journalist working for the Daily Mail, picked up by an automated news aggregating website and then mentioned by a RM member. For what it's worth I think the story is a load of shite (it is the Daily Mail after all).
  6. Really hope that they manage to tie Piers Morgan to this. It happened on his watch, the bastard.
  7. Maybe (just maybe) things are changing? This is the second story on the DR online site today.
  8. When will you publish and implement a sustainable business plan? When will you appoint a new manager? When will you appoint a new Financial Director? What would be the implication of not achieving promotion this year?
  9. Not quite - he has served the prison part of his sentence but he is out on licence for the next 2 1/2 years. Even after that the sentenced will not be spent. If he had shown some remorse and waited until his case review had been determined I would have had more sympathy for his cause. As for signing him? No thanks.
