How many times do we hear “we need two players for every position “ the usual suspects get a free ride as there has been no pre-planned recruitment to ensure players know if they fuck up there’s someone straining at the leash to take their place. Our recruitment to create a hungry internally competitive squad has been abysmal. Tav, Goldson, Lundstram and to a certain extent Souter and Dessers know they can’t be dropped - not because they are invaluable but because there’s actually nobody else. So they get comfy knowing they will play every week knowing there’s nobody fighting hard for their jersey. Our injuries haven’t helped but when everyone is fit there’s still no real competition, the quality is just not there.

Perhaps big Phil has told him he’s off in the summer 🙏

Well said Colin. I seen Sima covering Tav a couple of times yesterday. We need to ensure our wide players have a defensive duty also. If we are playing wingbacks (which we do) then why have we no system in place for counters??? It’s infuriating

Or why not ask our fucking wide men to cover space caused by wingbacks attacking. It’s not difficult

This squad has been assembled over time by a concoction of managers who have generally struggled. we have spoken about Clement and how he has turned our season round with this group. I personally can’t wait to see what happens in the summer. We will get a better idea of him and our ambition
