Has the penny finally dropped then Bill, it's took you long enough..........
No, I have always seen the frailties in our team and outdated style of football.
-
I haven't changed any tune. It all hinges on Ashley. Only problem is, if he leaves it too late.

You don't need a business with a voice like yours

How about Eurosport ,with a journalist ,who wishes to remain anonymous ,being interviewed/questioned by a tv journalist ?
The anonymity bit would add to the potency of the message

Surely someone can run with it Bill. English media if not in this country?
Probably best way of getting it into mainstream is England or abroad

I know some big name journos who are desperate to run this story but they have no chance of getting editorial backing

Make no mistake - VB is read by people in the wider world

I have had my say as to how I felt at the time, when he wrote that we were dead, pissed off, would be putting it mildly. Why it has taken him so long to apologise only he will know.
Could it be because he is now involved with the Dave King venture, and has been advised, that by doing so it will possibly bring onboard more supporters' for the venture?
Call me cagey, but I think his apology seems to be slightly contrived and staged, and the timing is suspect.
However, I will accept that he has put up his hands and explained himself, and will give him his place for clearing up the matter, as it does go a long way towards helping to heal the past, and it does count.
People like me, who have expressed themselves towards what Richard Gough wrote in his own column at the time, whether mild surprise or in more flowery language, had, and still have, the right to be ticked off, and to still be so, as is their right.
But, anyone who ever saw him play would never put him down, or deny him his right to be a Ranger, and all that that entails. I know of no-one who supports the club that would do that, as they all appreciated the effort and leadership and commitment he gave to us all, as a great player and captain.
So, well said Richard Gough, and in the words of Sam Cooke, "It's been a long time coming"
Again to be fair to RG, it has nothing to do with the Dave King thing, Bobby.
I knew his thoughts on the matter but didn't feel it was my place to speak for him.
Thankfully, he has come out and clarified after I urged him to explain his comments.
I am very opposed to the King plan as everybody knows but don't like the dead club thing being used against Goughie. It's a phrase that I hate as much as anybody but RG has explained what he meant and It is good enough for me.
I don't like his position on the King ST fund but I think he is sincere in his motives. Sometimes people get things wrong but their hearts are in the right place.

"IF" casts doubt on whether he thinks an apology really is necessary and it also takes away from the apology itself.
I would have preferred an unequivocal and unreserved apology.
No, he is saying if you were offended, he apologises for that
Lots weren't because they knew what he was meaning or they just didn't take offence
-
That kind of corporate speak language really annoys me; it sounds like a very grudging apology indeed.
It would have been a lot better if he had just said something like I realise that a lot of fans were offended by my comments and I would like to offer an unreserved apology because what I meant was (see above).
You're quibbling about the word IF?
What more do you want from the guy?
A pint of blood?

Saw him do it more than once
If memory recalls I am sure they made it a bookable offence

I get the feeling the two main parties don't really care if we become independent or not. If we do, The Tories rule England forever and a day and Labour do the same in Scotland.
Scottish Unionists / Loyalists must start becoming political and looking out for our own people.

The SNP and the Scottish Labour Party - two cheeks of the same Rangers-hating, Republican-loving, anti-Protestant, anti-Unionist and anti-Loyalist arse.

There seems to be a few links on this allan mcleods's twitter page to articles and blogs re Rangers fan ownership.
Surely he's not affiliated with one of the supporters groups?

There is an Allan McLeod on the Rangers Unite website
Surely the impartial "If I was a Rangers fan" Mr Allan McLeod in the article who appears to be in favour of fan ownership is not the same person responsible for product development with Rangers Unite???

It was a phone interview was it not bill ?
Yes it was
We couldn't make a face to face fit my schedule or his
-
bill you and the cro did well getting him to speak to you. i also understand that there is a chance if you badgered him too much he may have walked away.
i think there are major issues with how he comes across... blogs one message ... interviews with aa different viewpoint.
he is one of a few things
an appeaser
a liar
a schizo
perhaps all three... he accused Rangers of being one of the biggest sporting cheats in history. he denies calling us cheats...
nah bill well done in getting him to talk but he is a liar.
That's the point
If he is lying - why?
It can only really be a climb-down
Which is a victory for fan pressure
-
Yes you are but if you write good stuff i wiil give you credit. But if i do not like what you write, then i will tell you, but still think that you were to easy on him.
Based on not having heard the interview
You read his responses and didn't like them
So you shoot the messenger
-
If you stick to what you do best and stop trying to be loved by everyone, you write good stuff. You had a chance to put him under real pressure, but instead fell for his bullshit.
Loved by everyone?
I'm a Rangers blogger

Sorry Bill but you are to much of a hand-wringer in my opinion.
Is that today, minstral?
Other days it's "Great blog" and "Well done"
That just makes you two-faced in my opinion - at worst
Or just double-minded at best
Either way, it devalues your opinion

I think Ashley has good intentions and I think he is a very shrewd businessman.
But I don't think he is infallible.
The situation at Rangers right now is, as I said, fine margins.
The danger is he leaves it too late to take radical action.
