  1. Hasn't done anything that warrants any praise yet, but as others have said he isn't match fit. He completely ran the show when Norn Iron played the beggars in Dublin in November so he's still got 'it'. Give him a bit of time and he'll produce the goods. Worst case scenario he's out the door in 6 months when his loan is up. Definitely worth the punt, especially in games like today.
  2. Jermain Defoe OBE Steven Davis MBE Gareth McAuley MBE I'm assuming they will all be on the pitch together at some point (with Steven Gerrard MBE watching from the sidelines too obviously). Got to be some sort of record when that happens?
  3. Phoning the gaffer at midnight with a bullshit excuse as to why you aren't going to turn up for work the next day, is a cunts trick in any job, especially when that leaves no time to get a replacement and you are needed for the job. Even if it was a genuine recurrence of his injury (which Rangers weren't even aware of) he would have known about it shortly after coming off the pitch and definitely before midnight. If he doesn't want to play for NI then that's his right, but he should have done the decent thing and said before the squad was named. Midnight phone call is taking the piss. There are plenty of fringe players that would have leapt at the chance of a late call up. However, another cunts trick that is perfectly on a par with what Lafferty did is the IFA punishing Rangers for his fuck up. NI's next match is a friendly against the Republic in Dublin. Why not make a point of overlooking him for that squad instead? If he does want to play for NI then he would want to play in that. That would send out exactly the same message and punish Lafferty instead of shitting on Rangers who are the innocent party in all of this.
  4. Too many people are just looking at his age then slagging him off. 1. He is a bear. 2. 150+ Premier League appearances (including 44 in the last 2 seasons and 6 goals) 3. 79 caps and 9 goals (including playin in all Norn Iron's matches at the Euros and scoring) 4. Absolute fitness freak and one of the fittest players at West Brom. 5. Didn't start playing full time football until he was 24. A 38 year old that started playing professionally 6 years after most players is in much better physical condition than normal burnt out 38 year olds. 6. He is an experienced head that will help bring on the younger lads. 7. He is backup that we desperately need considering the number of games this season. 8. The transfer window is shut. 9. Free and presume on lowish wages. Absolute no brainer. Welcome Gareth!
  5. Grant McCann. Peterborough United & Norn Iron. Doubt too many people will agree with this one, and at 32 he certainly isn't one for the future, but if you think about it, he would be a pretty decent addition to the squad. He's a decent enough player and could excel at our level for a season or two, has a mean free kick, good leader on the pitch and good captain material, wouldn't demand much in wages, contract is up in the summer and he's Rangers through and through. Can't remember exactly what he said, but on twitter at the start of the season he was asked if he would play for us considering we are in the bottom tier, and his response was something along the lines of "Mate, I would happily crawl across broken glass, if it meant I would have the chance to play for Rangers".
  6. Baffled by this thread tbh. I couldn't give a f**k if players we have now are good enough to play in the Champions League or not. All I care about, is if they can do the job they are required to do at this moment in time, and can they do that job with a bit of pride and commitment for the shirt they are wearing. Andy little is doing both just fine at the moment. Lets have this discussion again if his goals dry up or he is still in the team when we are playing at a high level.
  7. If you ignore who wrote it, it isn't a bad article to be fair. Most of what is said is spot on. Unfortunately I cant ignore the fact that it is that fat c*nt Hartson who wrote it, and anything he says makes me want to break something. Seriously the bloke could be telling me next weeks winning lottery numbers and letting me have a ride on his missus and id still hate his guts.
