Sums up this country and league. Everyone knew it was gonna piss down and they’ve not tried to protect the pitch for a game that was on the telly, embarrassing really. Positives, team get a well earned rest now.

He’s only had one window but there was a marked difference in the players PC looked to bring in when compared with the last decade. Hopefully summer trading replicates this but only time will tell.

Reality is we are a team in desperate need of an Int’l break just to get some back up to fitness. We’ve been beaten by one goal against a team who have been in the QF of the Champions Lge the 2 seasons before this and now they’re in the QF of the EL and we’ve got folk spitting the dummy out. As some have said, we were a million miles away from that just 5months ago so I’m delighted with the progress we’ve made. Just need one final push on Sunday and then hopefully PC has more to select from come end of month when they return.

Anyone being critical of that team effort tonight should just fuck off out here. Should be nothing but proud of a team effort against a team with more quality and finances behind them and we went toe to toe across both games. Very fine margins, we just lack fitness and quality.

For all their huff and puff at the start of the second half, Butland had very little to do. Their first sending off was only a matter of time, he lost the plot, was spoken to by the ref for the McCausland incident and then fouled Matondo. Second one, guy went in at pace to injure Lundstram so get it right up em. Difficult game managed well, even popcorn teeth confirming polished, professional performance keeping our discipline. Just wish we’d avoid mounting injuries as per.
