  1. Wigan have been my second team for a long time now. Great stadium, manager, and board. They are well run within their means, and play football you would love to see. An F.A cup final was a wonderful thing to see, and playing and beating a team that cost twenty times the amount spent on Wigan was fantastic. We need to run our team along similar lines, live within our means, play attractive football, and everything else will take care of itself. As for the SPL, a dying duck, I think a whole new league needs to be set up. Franchises for areas where too many clubs currently operate. It will never happen, so we continue down the slippery slope.
  2. To all the above who think I'm wrong, until it is FACT that Craig Whyte cannot come back, you can send your money wherever you want, I will wait till I see who is actually the recipient. Ticketus sent millions...where is it now?
  3. Having posted here before about my reservations regarding sending any more of my hard earned cash to the so called people running our club, I would make the following statement No renewal money until we know who is in charge, their past, and their credibility. To me it has to be Walter Smith at the helm. I bought shares, season tickets and also contributed to the fighting fund, like thousands of other loyal fans I hoped and believed we had a future we could build together. I even believed we would "enjoy the journey" It now turns out we are a rudderless ship, with known criminals wanting on the board, and tax evaders interested in taking over.I say NO The club must belong to the fans, and anyone with a major shareholding must be free of a criminal record, and able to look anyone in the eye and say with honesty and integrity "I have the best interest of this club at heart" At the moment, only Walter fits this bill. If he agrees I would let him and John Greig, play a major part in getting the club back on track. The blue knights warned us, and they have been proved correct, now is the time for fans and shareholders to let the board know, we will not put another penny into the club until we are satisfied that the money will be used appropriately. We must get the boardroom sorted, then we can sort the shambles on the park. So I will say it again, NO MORE MONEY UNTIL WE ARE SATISFIED THAT THE CLUB IS BEING RUN PROPERLY
  4. If you can read you'd see I will pay when i find out waht improvements i can expect, i will not pay more to watch the same crap on show this season.
  5. Absolute nonsense, it's not the money, it's what we get for the money. I have watched terrible games in the past, but nothing like what I have endured this year. I paid expecting to be entertained as our highly paid FULL TIME team tore the part time opposition apart. Forty years of paying, forty years of going home and abroad, what I am saying is if Queen of the South can romp to a title without our huge rersources, and we get beaten by Stirling and Annan, then before I pay an increase for this torture I want to know what improvements I can expect. You can do what you want, but the empty seats appearing is a warning the management must heed.
  6. No actually pre mid 60's means all times before the mid 60's...sorry if it's confusing!
  7. If you believe the Daily Record, Ally has blasted Charles Green for saying this is the worst team ever. I accept Ally is entitled to his opinion, but I am with Charles Green on this. Can anyone recall a worse team? I have had a season ticket since 1973, and have seen some really poor teams in my time, however, sorry Ally, but in my opinion Charles Green is 100% correct, and Ally being three years younger than me probably has no cause to argue. If anyone saw worse teams in the pre mid 60's, then Ally may have a case, but not in my lifetime of support!
  8. I am perfectly sensible, and have paid for season tickets, rescue funds and shares TWICE! However I also deserve value and entertainment for my money. I can no longer follow blindly watching the team in the freezing cold being played off the park by Annan! And pay more for this dubious privilege
  9. I know I'll be shot down on this one, but it is time to face reality. The economy is suffering and most of us have less money in our pockets. Having forked out for season tickets (since 1973), donated to the fighting fund, and also for shares (having lost my money in previous shares I owned) I have come to the conclusion that an increase in season ticket prices cannot be justified. We have suffered watching the worst rangers team of all time, playing in the worst league we have ever been represented in, and we have not in any game other than the Motherwell game, been entertained. Yes I am loyal, I do not need to prove this to anyone, but NO, I am not prepared to pay any more until we are back in the top flight. Charles & Co. DO NOT take our loyalty for granted, yes we want to be part of the revival ,but this journey we are told we are enjoying is nothing short of torture! I have hated this season, not because of the division we are in , but because we have failed to impose ourselves on a bunch of part timers, who at times have looked stronger, hungrier, and fitter than our highly paid imposters. So there it is, I will renew, but not if there is an increase, the team and management do not deserve more money for what we are getting in return. Queen of the South have proved that you can win a league easily , without breaking the bank.
  10. Beating the Juventus team who contained 7 of the Italian World Cup winners. Gordon Smiths finest hour!
  11. I remember the old joke about the design fault in our stadium... namely the seats face the ptich! I am afraid it is true at the moment. Bought shares Bought season tickets Can't watch the shit on offer.
  12. I will renew as usual, but will not attend until there is something worth watching.
  13. It looks like Ally knows we will not put up with the dire football being played this season. However, can he pick the players needed to join us? History says a resounding NO. His signings (Templeton excluded) have been woeful. He is at last chance saloon, and I wish him well, but unless the football improves, I will be a non attending season ticket holder. I am NOT prepared to work hard all week to watch a team of highly paid footballers slacking!
  14. People who don't remember pre Souness or indeed pre Jock Wallace days don't know how tough it was. However they are finding out now! The Souness era turned things upside down for a while, and let's be honest before then Rangers were a selling club. We sold Jim Baxter , Colin Stein, and even John Mclelland as we could not match the deals on offer at Sunderland, Coventry or Watford! Now , as you say we expect a lot more, and if we are honest, we are paying for shoddy goods. I will keep supporting , and hope we get back to where we were, and that we start being entertained again, after all it is supposed to be entertainment is it not?
  15. Cheers Mate, I realise some wont agree with my post,, but it is nice to have replies without swearing for a change!
