andyhrfc got a reaction from born a blue nose in English Football
Having watched them last night they are the worst United team I have ever seen. More likely to put money on sn Arsenal win by three goals.

“We conquered all of Europe,
We’re never going to stop,
From Paris down to Turkey,
We’ve won the fuckin’ lot”
What a week, Benfica at Anfield, then Braga at Ibrox, down to Wembley for City, then up to Hampden and rounded off against United. We have just sorted travel for Leipzig so off to bed for a few hours. Mental but love it.
And full credit to the couple of hundred United fans who stayed to the end. Must have been torture.

andyhrfc reacted to Willis in Barry: I'd rather win the league than Europa
I want the champions league to be our bread and butter. And winning the Europa is the first step in making us constant serious contenders in Europe. I want to win both the league and Europa but if its between the two it has to be the Europa

andyhrfc reacted to Prso's headband in Barry: I'd rather win the league than Europa
He fucks his own argument by saying it’s our bread and butter. Exactly, we have a 50/50 chance of winning the league every season.
By our Euro trophy count were a 1 in 150 chance…
In the current financial climate of clubs in Europe, the Europa is what everyone surely wants to win, the bragging rights will be endless literally for decades to come.
Nobody will think back to 2022 and think aw aye cellic won the league, it’ll be aw aye I was there when Rangers won the Europa league.
Barry Ferguson, as usual, talks pish

andyhrfc reacted to SkylineBlue in McLaughlin in for McGregor?
Good keeper and feel so much more confident with him at corners. He never has been, and never will be, as good as McGregor was, but with McGregor on the decline I think its maybe time to give him the jersey looking ahead to next season.

Was delighted we got the opportunity to sing back “can you hear the celtic sing” after they had the utter brass neck to sing it at us after not singing the whole fucking game until they scored

Fantastic.
A few drubbings at Hampden aside we are consistently better than them and they know it.
The Union Bears display today is something never seen in a British domestic game.
We're the best in the business.
Glasgow Rangers!

Home half an hour ago, downed 4 cans watching the highlights and catching up on the forum. Fucking awesome stuff.

We deserve to get the humiliation of losing the title at their place if we can't win against Motherwell

They probably will score unless they completely bottle it. If they do score, especially if they score first, we need the crowd to keep behind the team. An inept showing from the stands similar to last Sunday after they drew level and we are up shit creek.

andyhrfc reacted to scottyc06 in Braga - Coefficient Points
Obviously, it depends on what happens in Ukraine however this tie could be massive for us! A draw in either of these matches would see us overtake Dynamo Kiev in terms of club coefficient, which would have us seeded in every round including the play off round!
If we don’t win the EL, we want Barca or Leipzig to win it as that then puts us in to Q3 instead of Q2 (two ties as a seeded team to negotiate).
Based on our recent European form, we would need a Malmo level of fuck up for us not to get into the Champions League next season when you see the teams we should be facing if we’re seeded!

Primarily he set us up / sent us out to play as if Alfie was there when we all know Roofe cannot play in the same way. Obviously losing Alfie in the current context of our squad set up is huge but to not try and counter that left us pretty toothless upfront. To me we needed someone much nearer Roofe through the game, I think we tried to have Ramsey making late runs off of Roofe, but he can’t hold the ball up as well so a lot of the runs were being wasted.
Also the old criticism of his subs (or lack of) was an issue for me again, the game was slipping away in the second half and I don’t think he really tried anything different. The subs (which in my opinion were wrong personnel off and on) kept the shape the same. We put Sakala wide and for all he lacks we at least started to play a bit more down the right, but we didn’t have a mouth bodies in the box causing issues, looking for seconds.
I agree that he can’t account for poor performances, but he has the ability to change half his starting 11 if they aren’t performing. What reason was there for keeping on Aribo for the full 90?
Why not try to switch to a 5 at the back and put two through the middle up top, or push whoever was playing the 10 further up and play a 4 2 4 for a while, or even ask the two wide men to come inside a little, clear the wings for Bassey and Tav and be more of a presence through the middle? Basically try something different when it was starting to slip away…

Your right even though they also needed a kick up the arse on a few occasions. The players generally responded.
Maybe Gio was flogging the proverbial dead horse at half time.
Perhaps it just didn’t mean enough to the players. I wonder how many are rattled like we are late on a Sunday evening.

The crowd knew it was done once they went ahead. No energy from the stands in the second half. Compare today to many European nights when we would have roared the team on to score.
Not blaming the fans here, I was there and as gobsmacked into silence as the rest. If the team had come out and thrown the kitchen sink at them in the first ten minutes of the second half, then the crowd would have responded.
Can only imagine how insipid the half time team talk was.

andyhrfc reacted to King Jela in Vote on the Coming Season...
Came back from the winter break lethargic, on the manager. 2 points dropped at Aberdeen after sitting back, on the gaffer. Kept McGregor between the sticks after Ross County, on the gaffer. Dropped 2 points at home to Motherwell, that's on the manager. No change in the tactics today without our best player, on the gaffer. Keeping Aribo on for the whole 90, on the gaffer.
Can't blame him for McGregor fucking it at Ross County, losing at Parkhead or drawing at Dundee United but if we'd only drew one of them, lost the other and won against Aberdeen and Motherwell at home, especially Motherwell at home, we'd still be in it. We aren't and that's on him. 4 points in front to 6 behind

So, tactically what did GVB get wrong today?
You can’t legislate for keepers who can’t keep a clean sheet, defenders who can’t defend and wingers who can’t beat a man
