  1. Happened to Jim Forrest and George McLean as well after the Berwick Rangers game and we had no strikers for the ECWC final against Bayern in 1967 as a result of that stupid policy.
  2. For gods sake whats Allys shoes got to do with his capabilties as a manager. Get off his back ,and his feet.
  3. What would Will Hay have thought of it all I wonder?
  4. Nobody is saying anything about medals. Jock Stein was well respected by Rangers fans in the past and I was at Clydebank when you could have heard a pin drop during his minutes silence. He came to the aid of Rangers fans during our darkest day and you can minimise this as much as you like ,but I will never forget his heroic actions that fateful day.
  5. Big Jock did know, but he also helped to stretcher the dead and injured Rangers fans along with Willie Waddell at the Ibrox disaster.
  6. Its good, but not as impressive as Bruce Springsteens 41 shots. Is that a record? lol.
  7. Obviously a difference of opinion on the strikers but I fully expected all of these strikers to score a massive amount of goals against inferior opposition in the lower leagues and none did. Sandaza was woeful in my opinion and Clark did not look like the same player who scored so many for QOS the previous season.Daly was no more than average last season and I forgot to mention Kevin Kyle. You would think Ally, given his own pedigree as a striker would be able to coach these players into upping their game and yet the opposite seems to have happened. Is it down to his tactics or man management skills or perhaps both. I would love you to prove everyone wrong Peter and for Ally to be a successful Rangers manager but there is so much wrong in all departments of our team and I , unlike you cannot see him turning it round.
  8. I admire your loyalty Peter but there must be some doubt in your mind now about Ally getting the promotion that we need this season. We are up against much better opposition this season and we are not showing any signs of improvement .What would need to happen for you to change your opinion on Ally as a manager? I have noticed that he dosen't seem to get the best out of strikers with Sandaza ,Shiels, Daly, Clark and now Boyd all underperforming in the lower leagues. Whats your take on that.?
  9. Who would have got the transfer money if the players had not refused contracts? Just wondering.
  10. I wonder what Ed would have thought of this........................ him being a local KP boy.
  11. It wont improve the team that much wherever Lewis McLeod plays in my opinion.
  12. I didn't know that John Grieg was sacked.I always believed that he resigned being the man of great dignity that he was/is. Still,if big Derek is saying that ,he must know as he was on the playing staff at that time..
  13. Not a patch on Ian Durrant, Barry and Derek Ferguson at similar ages in my opinion.
  14. Our first two games this season have been against teams who have lost most of their senior players last season and have now got rookie managers. We have been arguably the best team in both first halfs but Hibs and Hearts have outplayed us in the second half of each game.It seems like they have changed tactically and exploited our obvious weaknesses, which are many.I feel so sorry for Ally and really wanted him to do well but he is now into his fourth season as our manager and he has failed, we really are a poor team to watch. We may well win this league but what is the point of promotion to the top tier as we are going to really struggle and inevitably the crowds will fall away as they did in the early 80s. I just cant see a way out of this, nearly everything that could be wrong with a club is wrong with Rangers, apart from a fantastic loyal support who deserve much better.
  15. I know,it seems that bears are not interested anymore.
  16. What a day out that was Trixi. A barbecue, the GPB and a Rangers Karaoke.Happy days that made me be proud to be a Rangers fan.
  17. It will be a rush for me Johan as I will be coming straight from work and the last train home is before midnight. Ed is planning going to a gig in King Tuts in August so maybe we can meet up then.
  18. We are going to see the Delines in Oran Mor on Friday night Johan. They are a group made up of Americana bands including Richmond Fontaine, Decemberists and lead singer Amy Boone from the Damnations. Their debut album Colfax is superb and their tour is getting rave revues. It would be nice if you could come. Amy Boone has a wonderful voice and I cant wait to see her live. Ive been a big fan of Richmond Fontaine for many years and saw them play Oran Mor on Helicopter Sunday would you believe.
  19. Its Friday mate.Have you been playing the Delines cd?
  20. Hope you had a great time G with your good lady.Cant wait for Redondo Beach.
  21. Wasn't it a fabulous trip trixi. Thanks to you and Alan for making it that bit more memorable.Lots of happy memories to savour and its great to know that there are so many decent Rangers fans now living in North America and they have still retained their love for our great club.
  22. I have just spent one of the most memorable weeks of my life in Toronto for NARSA. Last year in San Francisco was special but this was even more so. The whole trip was just a buzz from start to finish and I have made so many new bluenose friends. The organisation from the Bramalee RSC from start to finish was superb and as soon as we stepped off the plane there was a bus loaded with ice cool beer waiting to take us to the hotel. There were so many highlights on the trip but for me the booze cruise with the GPB was a bit special and the banquet night with Glass Tiger and Tina Turner was also the business, well she looked like Tina to me and she certainly sang like her. Special mention to my old pal Davy Currie who introduced me to so many great people and got me and my cousin Christine and her husband Alan into the Blue Jays game. Lets go Blue Jays!!!!Davy, thanks for making the trip that wee bit more special,it was really appreciated by the three of us. I even got invited to a wedding in Redondo Beach for next years convention in LA. Young Robert is getting married to Angie, mind you I think he invited everyone that he met to his wedding on the beach. Robert and his pal Scott were great characters. There was a golfing event which DC didn't win this year and Alan Armours team won the absent friends soccer match.Alan had four assists playing up front and let everyone know about that during the trip but what he didn't mention was that the guy who was marking him was 69 years old. Alan became good friends with a couple of Rangers fans who now live in Chicago,Scott and Martin who were both great guys and full of fun. We also met up with John McTrustie and his partner Karen. John was a founder member of the Brothers in Blue bus from Shawlands and his hospitality was also appreciated. A really nice couple. John drove us all the way down to Niagara Falls and then took us to Lake Niagara where we had our lunch in the Niagara Lake golf club. I didn't get to meet Chris Graham or KP FishTank when I was there but I think KPFT may have been playing a running gag with me.See you next year D? Special mention to my two room mates Stevie and Ronnie who were as good as gold and both could snore as loud as me. I really would recommend NARSA to anyone who is thinking about going. Expectations are that Redondo Beach is going to top everything next year. The camaraderie between the fans is what makes NARSA so special and you know what? We really are the people..!!!
