  1. I think history will treat Ally more kindly than most of the posters on here.As a player he will always be a Rangers legend. As a manager he certainly did not achieve what the support demanded but who in Rangers history ever had to work under the pressure, because of issues in the boardroom, that he had to contend with. Without him Green would have surrendered titles and cups.He was the catalyst who sparked a shattered angry and demoralised Rangers support into action. I persosonaly would be disgusted if he was ever treated with disrepect by the Rangers support.
  2. Again after watching Coleraine and Hibs games I was delighted to seeRangers leave two players on the halfway line when defending corners. Both opposing teams had to keep three players back to counter this. This leaves space in the box for defenders to attack the ball and clear it.However I would suggest that like McCoist and Hatley in there prime they should move constantly. Left wing towards the centre centre to right wing and back again. Defenders get no peace and even the chance of one of them getting on a ball just cleared from the box towards the halfway line increases from 50 percent to 66 percent.
  3. Watched the under 20s play Coleraine on Friday night. Young goalkeeper was exactly the same. Both goalies obviously instructed to pass the ball out. Both under pressure when no pass was on.In these situations a punt up the park or a ball into row z is not a bad option.
  4. Marvin Andrews He is exaclly what Rangers are missing today.
  5. After the Eufa final in Manchester 2008 the Rangers support stood and gave him a standing ovation. That tells you what we thought of him.
  6. third game was against Dundalk and he scored two.I think Alfie Conn made his debut in that game.
  7. I really enjoyed this article especially as Colin Stein is my all-time Rangers favourite. In the Trophy-room I especially like the cup presented by a Polish team which is made out of coal. David, keep up the good work.
  8. They appointed their own independent commission and their own solicitors briefed them. They may not have had the judgement they wanted but they would be a laughing stock if they decided to appeal against it.
  9. Sorry. Correction to my earlier post(145).I was only thinking of period from 1986 onwards and i believe the SPL was formed earlier. In this event Aberdeen and Dundee Utd may have been previous winners. Anyway you get my point.
  10. I remember that Rangers legal team were confident of success when the tribunal ended and I pray their confidence is justified. In any event consider this. Any punishment for any crime must be capable of being applied to all.If I am convicted of drink driving the penalties I would face could be applied to all others who committed the same offence from the Prime Minister down. Only two teams in Scotland have won the SPL since its formation. If in the years to come some other team outside Rangers or Celtic are found to have had dual contracts during this period, how could they face a punishment of title stripping.
  11. The SFA and SPL Clubs made up rules as they went along with the sole purpose of killing Rangers. They failed. They have set a precedent. While CG may be talking sense on this issue I will never forget nor forgive what others made my club endure this year. The same rules apply to all.I will not change my opinion unless the SFA apologise for their ill considered actions and offer some kind of recompense for the damage done to Rangers. I want to see Rangers back in the top tier of Scottish football, and do not agree that they should move to England. If this happens I will not set foot in another away ground until the same period has elapsed that Rangers were out of the top tier in Scotland.
  12. Rangers are innocent no matter how the many Rangers haters wish that this was not so. I believe however that the SFA tribunal judges will be under pressure to find against Rangers should it only be for some administrative error. They will levy some fine on Rangers which will give the SFA an excuse to hold unto the monies now illegally being held by them from Rangers.
  13. In the summer in Belfast,CG was asked about this decision not to attend the tribunal and defend Rangers. He said that when you paid for any top professional advice on any part of your business in his experience you should listen to it. While I would prefer him to attend with all guns blazing I think for the moment he is keeping his powder dry.
  14. I raised this point with Mr Green when he was in Belfast. I made the point that Rangers had had to accept an illegal 12 month transfer embargo to be granted a licence. However as Rangers were effectively banned from signing players until the end of july they had already served two months of this sanction and should be allowed to sign players from the end of june next year. He accepted my point but said that he had no choice but to accept some sanctions to obtain a licence.
  15. Whether this money is owed to the creditors of OLDCO or to the NEWCO now running Rangers I do not know. What I do know, however,is that it certainly does not belong to the SFA/SPL.
