  1. I remember he dropped his wage to £10k per week when we went into admin. I think over the last couple of years it has risen again and heard he was now on £17k per week. Also heard that Black's wage jumped when he made a certain amount of league appearance (possibly 75) and he is now on £11k. Then you hear Daly is on around £6k per week when no other team would give him more than £3k. Majority is rumours to be fair but we're clearly paying too much in wages. Crazy money to be paying at this level especially when you look at what Hearts have done capping the wages so nobody is paid more than £1.5-2k per week.
  2. He taught with my dad and was good mates with him. Old mans gutted. He's spent the last day phoning around to see if it was true and find out what happened. Said he was a great guy and good bluenose!
  3. What's everyone's thoughts on what role our club captain will play this year? Will he be used as a utility player playing many roles throughout the season? Or will he mainly play 1 particular position? Striker, centre half or centre midfield? Obviously he'll need to feature in all the early games as the new signings won't be eligible to play but what does the future hold after that? His commitment and service to the club, plus performances last season probably means he deserves a chance to play regularly but it looks like we may have better alternatives with the new signings. Maybe sentiment shouldn't play a part and we should simply pick our best 11!? Personally I think he will feature heavily next season, probably starting the season up front till daly and Clark eligible but will then move deeper either into a holding role or centre half. Thoughts?
  4. Assuming mcculloch and sandaza out, I'd go with: Alexander Argyriou hegarty cribari Wallace Hutton. Black McKay. Shiels. Templeton Little
  5. Really enjoying the game. 1st season Won league in feb. 1 defeat to Stirling and won rest. Won challenge cup Won Scottish cup beating Celtic 3-2 in final 2nd season Won league (early again - 1defeat 2 draws) Won league cup (knocked out Celtic early) Won challenge cup Scottish cup semis (still to play) Team doing well. Playing 442. Hutton, aird, little, mackay and faure progressed really well. All regulars. Faure is excellent. Black, Wallace, sandaza and templeton all been great for me. Gasparatto also rated highly now. Knocked back £500k for him. Trying to play him a bit now as long term replacement for emilson. Not signed many players. My expenditure is pretty high already and trying to sustain it. Sold goian for around £450k to get off wage bill. Tried to sell boca but didnt happen. New assistant manager in. Also let high paid low calibre coaches, physio's etc leave and brought in cheaper better options.
  6. I'm unbeaten in the league and have yet to concede a goal. Had a few 1-0's though. (Upto January) Lost in cup to Celtic 2-1 and drew against Morton in Scottish. (Won replay) Playing 442. Won challenge cup as well Struggled to sign anyone decent. Got Addo, Bodde and Mpenza on free transfers to boost squad. Couple of scottish youngsters signed who were scouted and highly recommended.
  7. He taught with my dad and was at my parents wedding. My dad said he was a good guy. McAdam's dad used to try and watch both sons play and went week about to Ibrox and Glitterdome, but when Gers played the mhanky mob he always sat in the Gers end. No idea how good a player he was tho.
  8. If we sign Hutton and McGowan we'll now have 3 new right backs! Can McGowan play other positions? Really hope we sign templeton!
  9. I thought he was starting to look a player at centre forward and would get plenty game time there but not so far. Will be interesting to see where he plays most this season. I know he's known for his versatility but I don't really see it. He's a striker for me. Doesn't have the attributes for midfield and look uncomfortable playing. Would like to see him get a run of games up front.
  10. I feel sorry for Andy Little. Does well up front but looks terrible at right mid. Should only play if up front. Think Perry is still injured. Even if he's not can't see him being fit. Hopefully Cribari is fit enough to play as don't want to see Goian or Broadfoot anywhere near the team!!
  11. ---------Alexander----------- Cole Cribari Bocanegra Wallace ----------Hutton----------- ---MacLeod Black Shiels----- -----McCulloch Little-------- Shiels can push up and make a 3 man strike force. Wallace and Cole can provide the main width. Hutton provides a bit of cover for the defenders which also helps to allow the fullbacks to attack. Then have McKay and Sandaza (tempted to start him) to bring on if we want to change it.
  12. Skysports app on the Iphone is the same. Pissed me right off!!
  13. Did you hear that prick commentator talk about Broadfoot going down easy? Something along the lines of him being good at going down easy. Something like that anyway. Pretty much calling him a diver! Do you think he's still bitter about the penalty Kirk got via the mhanky mob when there was contact with that big bald turnip!!?
