Do you remember when Caldow broke his leg at Wembley playing for Scotland, the days before substitutes and Dave Wilson went to full back and we won the game. That was my first trip to Wembley when I was only about 13 or 14. Sadly Eric Caldow was never the same player after that he was at that time the equivalent to the attacking full backs in todays game.

I remember my favourite player when I was watching Rangers was Alex Scott a great right winger in the same mould as Dave Wilson. I remember going to a cup final at Hampden in the late fifty's very early 60's against Celtic and was devastated the Scott had been dropped for Willie Henderson hated the wee man for that but soon grew to love him and forgot about poor old Alex

When you think back to last season and the players that the coaching staff had training at Ibrox with a view to signing and then think of the players that he has signed leaves a lot to be desired. Do you remember that we had Craig Gordon training with us for few months and as McCoist stated with a view to signing him. What did we do? let him go and sign Simonson not once but twice. Where did Gordon end up? Training at the piggery and after a few weeks there was signed as back up. Watching his performances between the sticks including last night shows just what we missed. He would have signed for us for peanuts just to get a chance to play again. He must be at the moment the best keeper in Scotland. I wonder what the manager did not see in him to let him go.

If he is on a rolling one year contract then don't renew it at the end of the season. If we have to have another year In the championship then so be it. This will give the new manger time t get his team playing the way he wants them before being promoted.

The Manager has been with us for 4 years now surely he has not been given a contract longer than 4 years. If that is the case then the previous board before Murray sold to Whyte has been responsible for what is now happening. Lets hope that Mr McCoist contract ends this season.
