I kind of get your point but look at Patterson on Saturday. He hit the ground running so he is clearly benefitting from training daily with seasoned players despite hardly ever playing.
In recent years, I haven't been a fan of the loan system. Rarely do our players come back better players. In fact more often than not they regress.

Slightly off the topic of the day here, but I was filming Hearts/Raith at Tynecastle today, and Kai Kennedy was outstanding. Looked a cut above every player on the pitch.
Only the second time I’ve seen him but he looks so promising. Kinda makes me hope we somehow don’t sign Wright. Would like to see Kennedy as Kent’s understudy next season

If only that boy had screwed the nut he could have been a big player. Didn't have the mindset or intelligence to make it at a big club. He has decent ability. I.m sure once he's older and wiser he'll have some regrets.

Tremendous scenes last night, a manager and team to be proud of. He gets it, and us, and is destined for the very top.
We've won nothing yet, but the structure and quality is in place to do so. The Gerrard haters are now very much conspicuous by their absence.
