  1. Absolutely embarrassing from Rumble. Moves up in weight and still can't make it. I would not be surprised in the slightest if Dana cuts him. He has missed weight at least 5 times now, and to miss by 12 pounds is a shocker.
  2. Preliminary card (Facebook) Featherweight bout: Felipe Arantes vs. Antonio Carvalho Preliminary card (FX) Welterweight bout: Ricardo Funch vs. Mike Pyle Featherweight bout: Yuri Alcantara vs. Michihiro Omigawa Heavyweight bout: Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Ednaldo Oliveira Lightweight bout: Thiago Tavares vs. Sam Stout Main card Lightweight bout: Edson Barboza vs. Terry Etim Welterweight bout: Erick Silva vs. Carlo Prater Middleweight bout: Rousimar Palhares vs. Mike Massenzio Middleweight bout: Vitor Belfort vs. Anthony Johnson Featherweight Championship: José Aldo © vs. Chad Mendes Decent looking card, every fight has a Brazilian in it. My picks - Etim, Silva, Palhares, Johnson and Aldo. Here is the Countdown if anyone wants to watch.
  3. I find it hard to believe that a top flight side don't use modern training methods and sports science. We really should be up with the top clubs in Europe in these aspects. It's the tactics, style of play and dare I say it lack of talent that makes us look poor at times.
  4. Won't happen, boxing politics will get in the way. Both will blame each others camp, and we will never get to see this fight. Can you imagine though? Would be record breaking. I haven't paid for a fight in a LONG time (no fights have really been worth it IMO), but I would defo pay for this.
  5. Looks like the guy has quality, but barring a SERIOUS clear out of some fringe players we won't be touching this player at 2m. Unless Jelavic is on his way out.
  6. Cris 'Cyborg' Santos busted for steroid use My link
  7. No danger Bones makes 185. IF it happens, Anderson steps up, vacates his title, beats Jones and retires the greatest martial artist ever to have lived. Maybe.
  8. He does deserve the benefit of the doubt, and i will give him it until proven otherwise. However, to put on that amount of muscle in a short time, you would have to put some serious time into it....whilst training for MMA/K1 at the same time? And all the while fighting in Japan, where fighters are not tested? Even though he held the heavyweight title in Strikeforce. It just does not make sense to me. Overeem is a very nice chap though, as is JDS. Both great ambassadors of the sport.
  9. I pick Junior as well, has very good speed, and a much better gas tank than Overeem. He also hits like a fucking lorry. Reem is a good fighter, but im not buying into the hype just yet. You cannot put muscles on your chin, and his cardio used to be shite when he was lean as fuck, I really cannot see it being much better plus 40 lbs of bulk. Do not really trust the horsemeat story regarding Overeem's rapid growth. He has never pissed hot, but something about the whole thing doesn't sit right with me.
  10. Anderson could be the man to do it, greatest of all time in my opinion. I just don't see this fight happening, would be a great spectacle however. Anderson Silva, on top form, is a sight to behold. Okami was petrified of him once he started to find his range. He is not the best wrestler though, but has never been beaten by a wrestler. That could be Jones best chance of winning. Dream fight.
  11. Fantastic talent. He is only going to get better, he has only been training for four years. Frightening. Everybody can be beaten though. Make no mistake, someone will find his chin eventually. Then we will see what he is made of. Rashad Evans is the only guy I see challenging him. I think he is a bit of a knob myself, but a great fighter nonetheless.
  12. Good to see us having a go, making them respect our attacking play. A nice refreshing change after the recent drudgery, showing some real ambition and making things happen rather than waiting for things to happen. Sone Aluko - signing of the season.
  13. The ref may be nursing a hangover I think. Shocking performance.
  14. The no heart stuff is utter shite really. Look at the Carwin fight. Took a hiding, got the win. Then gets 12 inches of his colon removed, and comes back to fight a K1 champ. He never took the easy route. The MMA community is full of morons and haters, the worst thing about the sport. His striking was never really any good, but, training on and off for four years, what do you expect?
  15. That guy has a SERIOUS left hand. Lol @ Fitch grappling the ref. Good performance by Overeem, think JDS punishes him though. Reem is very muscle bound and kind of slow, Junior TKO's him IMO. My respect to Brock, guy came in with zero top level experience and fought only the best guys. Not a complete martial artist by any means, but a top fighter nonetheless. His pulverising of Mir at 100 was one of the fights that sold me on the sport. He didn't need the money, he wanted to see if he could come into a sport and be the best, and for a while, he was. He has obv had health issues, but still had the desire to compete. For that, I tip my hat to Brock Lesnar.
  16. Really can't pick main event or co main. I reckon someone is going to get brutalised, I just can't pick who. Diaz vs Cerrone is fight of the year in my opinion.
  17. UFC are adding flyweights next year, with a tournament in March to determine the champion of the weight class. Mighty Mouse, Joseph Benavidez, Ian 'Uncle Creepy' McCall (Tachi Palace champ) and Shooto champ Yasuhiro Urushitani will make up the tournament. UFC adds Flyweights Alistair Overeem has been granted a conditional licence by the NSAC after missing a deadline for out of competition PED tests. Why am I not surprised? Overeem claims nothing fishy going on, instead blaming others. May be true, I have my doubts though. So Brock vs Overeem is still a go. Overeem granted licence Fedor(for anyone still interested) will fight Satoshi Ishii at the Dream New Years Eve event. Fedor-Ishii Confirmed for Dream NYE Event in Saitama Big Nog wont be having surgery after his arm break. Nogueira’s Doc Opts Against Arm Surgery After Break at UFC 140 Lots of fights announced this week. Here is a list. List of UFC, Strikeforce & Other Fights Announced
  18. To be honest, I have no basis for comparison regarding the reports, having never seen them in the first place (either one). Sounds a bit like paranoia. Although the saying goes "just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean that the BBC aren't filthy tarrier bastards" Or something like that
  19. Don't like Khan, but I thought he won that fight. Some weird refereeing was going on. Khan's gameplan was off, he seemed determined to show how tough he was in parts of the fight. Ego perhaps.
  20. Awesome event. Not really a Jones fan, but the boy can't half fight. I thought Machida kind of proved he is a better striker, but Jones can do it all.Machida actually looked to be taking the fight to him, but Jones can finish anywhere. I was actually devastated when Big Nog got subbed. Fair play to Mir though. Serious skill on the mat. I thought Nog looked great, as sharp as he's been in years with his hands. Mir looked very slow to me, he should drop a few pounds. When he's slimmer his stamina and speed are much better. I missed the Zombie fight (tennents), great win for him. Never gave him a hope. Consststastanos Filipilipnou (or whatever) had a great KO over Hamman. Next event is Lesnar vs Overeem. The cards at the tail end of this year have been ridiculous. Hopefully this one will be the same.
  21. That's a bit crap. Forrest got off with a slap on the wrist, for pretty much the same thing. I don't agree with this.
  22. First time I have heard of this. What are they gonna do exactly if he is found guilty? Give him a yellow card? A waste of time. There's rarely a match goes by where there isn't a controversial decision of some sort, the SFA are in danger of opening a can of worms. Every dodgy decision should be scrutinised if this one is, for parity's sake. Will it happen however?..
  23. A great fight, unbelievable heart and chin on display. I thought Shogun was done after the first. Hendo could knock out an elephant with that right hand, and Shogun took it, stayed conscious, and arguably could have got the draw. Another quality fight from Saturday night, courtesy of Bellator: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HziG9DBfJf0
  24. Midfield was anonymous today. Barry Ferguson may not have ended his gers career in a blaze of glory but he ALWAYS wanted the ball. The same cant be said about our current midfield. I'm really pissed off about this result, and thinking about the way the match went we were lucky to get a point. Very VERY one paced today.that goes for the entire side.
  25. If the team showed half of the passion and will to win as shagger does then these games would be a canter. Too many players hiding. If not for our keeper we would have gotten fuck all from this game.
