  1. The winter break will help as well with high pressing. It's difficult to sustain in England.
  2. He signed the likes of Rossiter and Krankjaer to make a difference and they were never fit. Barton was the other big gamble that was a disaster.
  3. “He’s been absolutely massive for the club. You don’t want someone to pretend or bat back any question. He answers every single question with honesty and truth. “It’s one of his values that I hope to take.” I think that's a dig at Brenton with all the fluff he'd always come out with managing them.
  4. For all Warburton's faults if he was given signings of the calibre of Sinclair and Dembele he'd still be in a job. He gambled a lot on Barton which didn't work (Championship player of the year) and Rossiter and Krankjar who've been mostly injured. And too many of the players who did well last season not able to make the step up. We know the calibre of player needed and it's not Accrington Stanley players.
  5. Yeah it's the Premier League quality they've bought in that's the difference. We need players of that quality. We were buying from Accrington Stanley and the released veterans market. Joe Garner is okay but not as a star signing. The likes of Garner and Waghorn can supplement an attack but they're average Championship players. We need a quality striker.
  6. He gambled on Rossiter, Barton and Krankjar and for one reason or another them not working out has killed the season. He didn't do enough to strengthen the defence or the attack but he gambled on those 3 making a top midfield while hoping Waghorn and Miller would score like they did in the 2nd tier. Those 3 signings weren't exactly top of the market though. They were players out of contract (same with Hill). Beyond that we were dipping into Accrington Stanley and Preston and got that level of player. We didn't sign a Moussa Dembele.
  7. We won't get back up there without players of the calibre of Sinclair and Dembele signing up.
  8. Spot on. Kolo Toure or Clint Hill. Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair or Garner and Dodoo. To compete with Celtic we need that calibre of signings. If we were up against last season's Celtic it'd be different. Yes Rangers should be doing better and have started slow but our natural level right now is 2nd given budgets and even then Aberdeen have been up there for a few years and have continuity. Rangers need a quality centre half and striker instead of relying on veterans on their last legs.
  9. We're an average team at this level, that's the reality. It was a good team in Division One but Hearts walked it the year before with a young team. The summer signings were mostly players for that level rather than the top league. Celtic have signed quality in Dembele, Toure and Sinclair who could hold their in the English Premier. We signed players like Hill fit for the knackers yard or average Championship players which is what Garner and Waghorn were at best. Aberdeen have been a solid top 3 team in the top league for a few years under Mcinnes. We're not better than them.
  10. He's definitely got a narcissistic personality disorder.
  11. In his mind he's as good as Gazza was but if he was he'd worth the trouble. The fact is he's only ever done well in the English second tier and Rangers are too big for him. He thought he could stroll it but Warburton said in the summer he told every new signing how physically competitive it is in Scotland and you have to be right at it as a Rangers player. He'd have stayed at Burnley but even he knew he wasn't up to the Premier League as he was crap last time for QPR. Where I do agree with Barton is the signings in the summer weren't good enough to get Rangers back to the top in Scotland while Celtic were signing Scott Sinclair,Toure and Moussa Dembele. Ironically his signing was a big part of the problem.
  12. When did Scotland last produce a genuine quality footballer? Watching Bale for Wales carrying them to qualification and Ramsey's a quality player. Robbie Keane scoring 67 international goals. England do still produce a few quality players. Until that changes the national team won't get anywhere without favourable group that Northern Ireland got and making the most of it.
  13. Just need a poacher to finish off all the chances created. Kris Boyd in his prime. I'd go all out for May who could lead the line well and score a bagful. Waghorn's not a goalscorer, though he will score goals at this level.
  14. We were second best in that game and you could tell then the season would be a long toil.
