ARockit got a reaction from Sparkle in Irvine Welsh comments attacked by Rangers & C****c
Check out the C****c statement - can’t help but have a snide dig and a wee inference! (I put it in capital letters)

    Scotsman Newspaper:
C***c and Rangers have hit out at Irvine Welsh over comments made by the Edinburgh author.
The Trainspotting and Filth author accused the Glasgow sides of not being interested in eradicating sectarianism, saying that without it the clubs would be the size of Hibs and Partick Thistle.
Welsh, speaking at a launch of his book Dead Man’s Trousers in America, noted that Kilmarnock boss Steve Clarke spoke out after being called a “fenian b*****d” by Rangers fans because he had been away from the Scottish game for so long.
He said: “It has to do with the Old Firm and the power of those institutions not really being invested in change.
“Why would they be? Rangers without sectarianism are Partick Thistle, basically. And C***c without sectarianism are Hibs. They’re invested in that, and it serves them as enterprises.
“You have to be able to shut down grounds and stadiums where singing takes place. That’s principally the way to do it because clubs won’t change until there is a financial incentive to do so.”
Both sides of the Old Firm have rejected such accusations.
A club spokesperson for C***c said: “These are tired and absurd accusations which, IN RELATION TO C***C FOOTBALL CLUB,  have no foundation whatsoever.
“C***c as a club open to all since 1888, has always campaigned against prejudice and promoted tolerance and diversity. This will always be the case.” It follows a Rangers spokesperson saying that Welsh’s comments don’t help and that they failed to reflect “how seriously we regard this issue.”

If I was putting money on it, I’d say...
    - MOH leaks team to St J, and won’t play for Rangers again unless Wright gets the gig
    - There’s a separate rat (Miller or his agent in all likelihood) that’s leaking to the press
    - Miller was dropped from starting 11 pre OF game due to form
    - Miller was dropped from the squad entirely because of his actions during the game (disobeying instructions) ‘officially’, but PC suspects he’s the leak ‘unofficially’
    - PC wants rid, but would rather not bad mouth him because we may need him in case of emergency, he has some influence over a section of the squad, or it may reduce our options for punting him come January
PC is entirely correct in highlighting the ST J situation and not public accusing Miller of being the rat, especially if there’s a lack of evidence.

I've a lot of issues with Pedro being our manager but this Kenny thing isn't one of them.
Kenny seems to think he's bigger than everyone else at the club lately. I have been a fan of his during his period at the club, I hope he doesn't completely ruin it at the end and have to be remembered as a badge thumper for the taigs.

Oh I believe more than ever he has the temperament, still not sure if he has enough knowledge of the game especially in Scotland.  Big JW had to boot the arses of quite a few prima donnas to get his team in shape.  Something happened last week with Miller who has brought nothing this season.
Manager has my 100 percent backing on this one, disruptive staff are a complete pain in the arse

I'd rather have a right back without Tav's attacking qualities than Tav without any defensive qualities. That was poor.

All this support from RSCs and polls are meaningless (no disrespect intended) without a poll of all the actual people that matter. The season ticket holders inside the stadium who may be affected. The Club, if exploring the issue need to ask them
    A) are you in favour
    B) would you be happy for your seating area to be converted
    c) if so do you want to retain your own seat/space
    d) if not where would you want to be relocated to
    e) if safe standing is created in another area of the stadium, would you be prepared to relocate to another area to accommodate another supporter who has been displaced
Only with this information can the Club get an idea of the viability ( notwithstanding the cost or whether it is priority) of the idea in the first place.
There may be no individual section with a majority of supporters supporting conversion of their seating  or prepared to relocate
There may be too many supporters wanting to relocate to a section that couldn't support them all.
Bear in mind too that this does nothing for increasing attendance and so a business case for the expenditure might be challenging in the current economic climate. The Club is more likely to spent money on necessary or regulatory  stadium matters.

That's all fine and well but the club run the risk of losing fans.
I know after 19 years it's not my seat, but it's as you say the sentimental part, the people you know, banter you have etc.
    Some fans would walk away.

No, they need to consult with every season ticket holder to gain a consensus of people in favour, people who want to stand, people who need relocated etc.
    Huge mapping exercise.
Every ST holder should give the option to stand or not. If you end up with 10k wanting to stand and only 3k standing capacity then it's done via ballot and waiting list established.

I mentioned earlier that I have been in GF3 for 24 years and wouldnt want to move (from one of the larger seated areas). The point I should have made, and I guess I am not alone, is that I have SAT DOWN for 24 years and don't suddenly want to STAND UP for 90 mins in all weathers.
I do it at Hampden because, that's just how it is, but I'd rather be in my seat at Ibrox, jumping from it when we score or get a Beaton given against us!

Think you are safe enough for another 24 years as it won't happen. No matter the part of the ground chosen (if it ever comes to fruition) there will be people not happy, which i understand totally. As long as the GR is left to the moaning oldies like myself.

So many "factions" on here. Those who feel Barton is the root of all evil, those who feel Halliday gets an easy ride because he's one of us, those who are out to criticise the manager at every opportunity. It's hysterical behaviour. Get a grip.
Unless anyone on here has a working relationship with any of the above or was actually at the training ground when the incident took place, how the fuck do we really know what happened/is happening on a daily basis?
Firstly, we may have reservations about some of the managers on field selections but I defy anyone to criticise his conduct and integrity. Gentleman. Behaves as a Rangers manager should.
Barton has too much to say for himself. Full stop. He talks about himself like he's had Ryan Giggs career, not Joey Bartons. That being said, he can still be a big player for us over the course of the season. Needs to improve and show us something on the pitch.

Halliday is a decent player, will not be the main man for Rangers in midfield but can certainly play a part. If certain supporters favour him or have an affinity with him because essentially he's one of us living the dream, why the fuck does that annoy people? It's the same with local boys at their hometown football clubs the world over. It's not is fault and surely we can all see he gives his all. No idea why anyone would want to be snide about him.

Lets pull together and stop the hysterics.

Is getting plenty publicity, which I think is the plan, and then he'll sign for another club that become aware of his situation. (I hope that's what happens. Anyone that stubs a cigar out on a fellow players face would not meet with Mr Struth's approval).

Folk like you are why we don't get taken seriously.
Anyone with an ounce of decency in them will accept that looking for a fight with opposition fans doesn't make you a Rangers fan.
Again all our anger is misdirected and idiots go Over the top resulting in Rangers being shown in a bad light. I've not opened the papers yet but if they are true to form the attention will be moved from the boardroom back to our fan base-you never know though.
In short, grow up! Anyone I've seen criticising what happened last night isn't sticking the boot into the club, it's the moronic portion of our fan base!
