  1. i enjoyed putting it together, glad you liked it
  2. a penalty is either scored or missed. Missed means it could be either saved or off target, so they are missed penalties. Two of the pens in the video were "off target" so it couldn't be called "penalty saves" could it? Maybe just enjoy the video (or not) and don't get to hung up on the words.
  3. Tonight at 7pm on The Rangers Archives You Tube Channel 11th May 1991 Rangers need to defeat Aberdeen to clinch the title for the third year in a row. A draw or loss will mean the title going back up the road to the north of Scotland. The full BBC highlights programme will be shown by clicking the link below from 7pm https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjKlhIBAZhY
  4. We are all missing the football action and will be for some time. If you enjoy watching some old matches I will be uploading TV Highlights of Rangers matches from 1980 onwards that are not currently available online, one per day for the next few weeks. Starting off today with a Scottish Cup Tie played at Ibrox on 16th February 1980 between Rangers & Dundee Utd. Some nice shots of the Broomloan Stand under construction, the old Centenary Stand, and also includes a post match interview with John Greig. This was in the very early days of recording from TV, so picture quality is not like it is today, but well worth a watch.
  5. best to believe what you read on the Rangers Archives page, the article was penned by Rick Russell. 🙂
  6. Hi, I run the Rangers Archives on Facebook, and I can remember watching the highlights as Marinello was the next big thing at the time and scored twice that day, but I think the footage must be lost or destroyed. now. Sadly very little footage from the 60's and early seventies seems to have survived.
  7. I can make up a DVD of iconic Rangers matches, don't know if they have a DVD player?
  8. I also have a large pile of Follow Follow and Number One fanzines, would they be interested in them?
  9. not at problem to send two to Erskine, just let me know the details of where to send them.
  10. not sure what your motive is for the question, but no, it has nothing to do with the Louden.
  11. Supporters of a certain vintage like myself will remember having this on their bedroom wall back in the early 70’s. The originals are very hard to come by in good condition nowadays, so I decided to have A3 prints made and digitally enhanced by a printing company from my original poster. They have proved very popular on my facebook group, and I am about to order a new batch, I was wondering if there would be any interest here from fans looking to obtain a copy. If you are interested please comment below or inbox me and I will come back to you with the details this evening (after work!)
  12. they are on my Facebook group, The Rangers Archives, I will stick them on You Tube in next day or so
  13. understand what you are saying, but I limited each goal to roughly 15 secs, adding another 10 per clip for celebrations would take it to almost 20 mins which I think is too long.
  14. The match was only covered by Drybroughs own film crew, hence the crappy angle for Coops goal. The 3-2 match in Sept 1977 was not covered by TV as there was a dispute between the TV companies and Scottish Clubs about the size of the advertising letters on the front of the jerseys (Hibs using Bukta was 2 inches too big) so we never got to see what was probably Rangers best ever comeback against celtic.
  15. Footage is available of all the goals in the game.
  16. Rangers released the first season review video at the end of 1986-87 titled "That Championship Season" I am putting together videos for each season from 1980 onwards where there was no official release, so 1980-81, 81-82, 82-83, 84-85, 85-85, 87-88 and 97-98. The first of these, from 1985-86, is available here It contains not only all the televised match footage from that year, but also TV News report from the AGM, Marlborough taking over, Jock Wallace departure and the unveiling of Souness. Hope you enjoy, even though the season was not great!!
  17. i would suggest a wank is someone who, despite never having heard of a person, sees fit to tar them with the same brush as others.
  18. i had 90 requests to join, takes a little time to get through them, hope you find it was worth the wait, and glad to have you on board
  19. Would just like to invite any Rangers supporters who are on Facebook to join my group, The Rangers Archives. On this we show videos of archive matches, many of which are exclusive to the group, post historical articles as well as a fantastic archive of pictures. Currently there are over 57,300 members, and everyone is vetted to ensure supporters of other clubs are not able to join. As an example, today there have been videos showing a) The 2009 Loving Cup ceremony, b) Jean-Claude D’archeville’s goals for Rangers, c) Compilation of long range specials v celtic, d) Mo Edu’s last minute strike in Lisbon in 2011 and e) a historical article of Rangers v Rapid Vienna played on this date in 1964. Here is the link to join The Rangers Archives Look forward to seeing you there SM.
  20. I am a nice guy, honest :-) I do have the full Sky Review of 1996/97, 70 mins in length. if the OP wants to get in touch I am sure I can help.
  21. it was indeed Bud who supplied the long ball from which DJ headed the late equaliser in 1971 SCF, Cutty provided the long ball from which Alfie Conn scored at the start of the second half in the 1973 final.
