Have we had any preseason matches behind closed doors yet, all the other SPL teams so far appear to have had at least a few matches? Usually you have a couple of matches against diddy league teams before increasing the ability of opponent but I can’t find anything anywhere about us playing any matches at all yet?

It's nothing to do with club not having money, it's all to do with Ashley spitting the dummy out when he didn't win his cases. Don't know if this is public knowledge or not but for a club our size I think this is absolutely scandalous. I know young boy that played against us with Annan last night and my son was talking to him today, when he was standing in the tunnel after the match Krankjar stopped to talk to him as he got injured and asked if he was ok. He was blown away that a guy of his stature would take the time out to chat to him, but he asked him for his jersey and when he was about to take it off the kit man asked him what he was doing. When he said he was giving the top to the Annan player he was told he only gets 3 home tops and 3 away tops for the season so if he gives any more than that away he needs to pay for them. Something to do with what Ashley has done after losing his various court cases against us. Even if Ashley is refusing to supply new strips for every match like you would expect with a big club like ours, you would think King would put something in place as this looks really bad on our club.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but what I found extremely strange was his complete lack of celebration at his goal. It was very muted, the kind of thing that happens when someone scores against their old club that they were loved at, especially strange when it was at Hibs where he must get more pelters than most being an ex-Jambo I would have thought. Any ideas why he didn't want to celebrate his goal? What a fantastic performance both him and McGregor put in on both wings, very telling that for the goal it was both of them in centre of the box, when have we even seen that before???

I'm fed up saying this, when will this team start pressing players when we don't have the ball. That's the core route of all our problems, you watch it when we lose the ball, the other teams players have an eternity on the ball to run and pick their next pass. While our players don't get a minute without a challenge, that's the big difference. Absolutely no work rate. Then the second issue is that cunit McDowell...we manage to get an equaliser and what does he do with only one substitution left? Replaces one midfielder who can't play a 5 yard pass with a holding midfielder to try and shore up defence!!!! Is he having a laugh, why not bring shiels or someone else attacking to try and WIN the match. I honestly think this board are taking no action with the coaching situation as they hope the dire product on the park will detract the fans from the way they have ran this club!!!

One guy hit the nail on the head earlier in this thread, this team have absolutely no idea or inclination to close teams down when we don't the ball. I'm not just talking about yesterday, I am talking about the last 3 years. Only now and again do you see it happening, only time I have really seen it this year was that match against Kilmarnock. We never gave a single Kilmarnock player a second on a ball without harassing him and it forces mistakes. Celtic have a far better team, personnel wise, that is unarguable but you make up for lack of talent with effort, and I'm afraid our coaching staff don't seem to understand that basic element of football. Even though they had better players they still never gave us a second on the ball without pressure, yet when they had the ball the guy on the ball could stroll about looking for the next pass. That is simply unacceptable. We have scrapped thru the leagues so far simply because our superior fitness would see us through in the latter stages of matches and now we are playing mostly full time clubs we are being found out big style due to similar fitness levels, or in some cases, fitter teams!!! I liked what McCall had to say in the studio and I think he would be a good shout to take us till the summer, he knows how to get teams pressing the ball. Then your flair players like Templeton can reek havok when we steal the ball back.

I hear people saying that 'toon fans are raging at what he has done to their club. Hasn't he brought plenty players into the club who have then moved on for even higher inflated fees? Just think, Rangers right now costs approx £20M a year to run from top to bottom. That doesn't even buy you a top player in the EPL... Running Rangers would be pocket money to someone like Ashley, even once into the top tier we will still only need about £30-£50 Million to run with the next level of player. Just imagine Ashley bringing in players like Cisse or Ba????? Which he could easily do with the lure of European Football for these players and the stepping stone to the EPL.

There in lies the problem, you 'think' you know what someone is thinking. But you have generalised every free transfer as being crap which is clearly not the case. If guys I have listed are available on free transfers then there are plenty right down the quality spectrum available, and not for the fortunes that this lot will be on.

Surely your response is a complete joke, have you seen some of the players on free transfers in just this transfer window:- Drogba Eto'o Pirlo Ashley Cole Lampard Gareth Barry Rio Ferdinand Sagna Diego Valdes Cambiasso Joe Cole Yes, they are free transfers for a reason!!!! I know most are in their final years, but every single one of them a million times better than ANY player in Scotland.

I keep reading that players wages are roughly 30% of income, I don't know a big club like Rangers which operates anywhere near that low level of wages/income, most of the bigger clubs are up in the 50% brackets and even above. If I have a business and I need to make savings do I look firstly at what represents 30% of my spend or what possibly makes up the other 70%?? What are we possibly spending £12-13 million a year on when we have no debt, and own all our assets outright?
