I think a lot of it is down to Gerrard not wanting to sell any players after we won the league and the board agreeing. In fairness to the board if they had insisted on Kent and Morelos being sold there would have been uproar

Reportedly Goldson had a clause in his original contract that if he extended the contract during it's original duration we would have had to pay Brighton £1m. I don't know if that's true but it might be that either or both Alfie and Kent have similar clauses in their present contracts as well . However Alfie may have extended his since he originally signed.

I'm guessing Leon King is still too young and raw to be used as cover?
I think King is injured at the moment and while he is a very good prospect he is a bit away physically . However the other B team CB is a bit older and a good player. We also have Mayo doing well at Thistle just now.

He was a very good player ,not as good as Barry but he should have won loads of caps for Scotland. Unfortunately ,as like a lot of Scottish young players he thought he knew more than the manager and could have been much more professional off the park .

Happy to go with our Management Teams view. If they rate him they will move for him

Just does not seem like one of our type of signings. I can't see our management team sign someone with a known poor attitude. Although if Warnock is the manager you could maybe understand.

Right on the mark as usual

If we are being balanced on this then St Mirren could have had a penalty. Not the most Stonewall but one all the same.

Usual Police Scotland, incompetent arseholes.
So this time they did have the evidence just decided not to look at it.

Murphy could still contribute to us however he needs to get up to speed and we can't afford to play him while is is not match fit. If we could get him out on a loan for 6 months and then have him back contributing for the last half of the season.

It was a poor performance by the players but the selection was wrong and that's what gave them the upper hand. Really pissed off with Sundays performance but trying to be objective . There were a few players who did play for the first time against celtic and hopefully will have learned. I hope the manager will have learned as well. Even the game at Parkhead where we lost 2-1 playing with 10 men ,when we attacked them we were successful. Even in that game we made a mistake for their second goal rather than them taking us apart. Also we missed a sitter near the end. If we go at them with the right attitude we will win. The players and management have just got to show they want it and trust their ability.

Thanks for the update

To do what, warm the bench? We play one upfront and we have Morelos and Defoe with Stewart as an emergency option. You can never have too many players but there’s no way we can sign another relatively high profile striker and keep him happy.
We also have McPake and Zac Rudden who could be used as back up if in the unlikely event all 3 are out . For me a new LB is a higher priority

one save to speak of in his highlights reel lol - actually though he was ok for what I remember though was about 19/20 at the time so don't remember much lol
He wasn't , nowhere near the standard we have had , really could not understand why we signed him.

Not very good from what I remember

Great goalscorer, first time around ,and for that I thank him. Second time around did nothing. In the media he has really been poor . He seems to fall in line with what will get him a gig on TV. Very disappointing

Johnny Hamilton on a free from Hibs in the 70s and he became part of a very good team

So Rod Petrie, becomes SFA President ,in an uncontested election and Mike Mulraney becomes Vice President today unelected as well today. Nice to see Scottish Football at it best . No wonder our football is dire. Also some very unfriendly faces at high level in the SFA.

What I remember for the game apart from the penalty miss ,was Newcastle's conduct that day. The stopped play ,dived and simulated injury to the extent that still to this day they are the worst team for that that I have seen at Ibrox. The second leg we missed a chance before they scored . They were a good team though and so were we but I did not appreciate it at the time as celtic kept winning the league and second is no good. Saying that it still is not good enough.
What is needed going forward?

It will need to be double figures both in the number of players to go and brought in.
