I don't feel that is the case, I think its more the fact that at first they criticised him and for a while they were told "it will get better", but it didn't and then it went from "it will get better" to "you hate the man" fairly quickly.
It is my honest opinion this is where the animosity between posters arises from.
I don't hate you or anyone for having a different opinion from me on these matters, but if you start questioning my validity as a bear (which I concede you have not) then it is most definitely going to become about much more than just a debate about the managers ability.
It is also my honest opinion that in the case of certain posters on here that is their goal, to steer discussion away from the facts of the situation and turn it into a slanging match, which only ends one way: the thread gets closed.

He was offered a contract, but couldn't be promised (rightly so) a first team spot. This could be a case of two points of view being right under the circumstances of each.
There's no doubt that Telfer is a Bear and is talented, but he may have been badly "advised" by his agent in this case, thereby invoking his right to move.
Rangers have done what was required to keep him, but missed out due to being straight up with the lad, and only time will tell if the negotiators were wrong. You can't force a person to stay.

Tbh I had not made my mind up on Telfer, but obviously has some potential.
There are two main issues for me though.
    1) Would he have been good enough to become a regular player for us ? If so, we have made a serious mistake, if not, then best he tries again elsewhere. Time will tell on this one.
    2) If we wanted to keep him and he decided to go to Dundee United himself, then either the boy or his agent is a fool, as he would be guaranteed more exposure and potential as a Rangers player, even in the championship.

To be fair, it's not just Ally who has squandered youth, I mean Gordon Ramsay was one of ours and look at the career he went on to enjoy

To be quite honest,MacLeod is the only player out of that lot that I would deem as having a genuine chance of being a regular in that team at the present time.
Aird is only there because he is the only genuine wide player we have got available with pace to get past defences, but as a 19yr old he has at least got his foot in the door if he improves his crossing and final ball, because he seems to have the right attitude to improve himself.
Gallacher I haven't seen enough of to make a proper assessment of, but all being equal he is in a good place to progress (depending who Ally brings in for next season)
As for McKay, he has to learn that there is a lot more than having skill to make the grade as a footballer, because if he doesn't change his outlook he will end up like John Fleck.

The irony is that urquhart has gone to Coventry City under Pressley, remember him, one of our youth players who wasn't good enough for the first team at Ibrox.
The fact is that there are hundreds of players who are good enough to play for hundreds of teams, but very few who are good enough to play for Rangers. It's a fact of life that Rangers will have an abundance of talent available to us, very few have/will make the break through into the first team.
The circumstances at the moment dictate that we must win the Championship this season, just like we had to win Div 3 and Div 1. At Dundee Utd, mediocrity is expected and delivered. Not here.

This is the kind of post which depresses me most. You think you know what you are talking about but really you haven't a clue. You clearly know nothing about the club's accounts and you know nothing about how companies operate.
Who are the "thieves"? What is it you think they are taking? Where is it shown or hidden in the accounts?
A loss of £70m ?? So RFC has always operated at no cost then, is that correct?
As for the fans money helping the club, it has always been that way. Every senior club on the planet runs that way.
The shareholders (including myself) own the club, Honest!
The CEO operates the club on a day to day basis. The CEO has to have the backing of the directors who in turn require the backing of the shareholders. That is how companies operate.
People such as you with your ill-informed paranoia-riddled posts simply create panic within the support. If you don't know about a subject then don't comment on it until you actually find out the correct information.

Every club apart from one booted us when we were down. Fuck the lot of them. Scum!

Although I'm not for the SFA/SPFL helping out Hearts, if they do they have to pay us back all the money that they denied us! I'm sure after the way we were treated they 'strengthened' the rules of this type of thing happening again, so if they can break their rules for Hearts, they can break them for us and pay us back our money, backdated with interest.
Oh, BTW, Dungcatcher and Rhegan have to resign with immediate effect as they've presided over the worst period in Scottish football history.

And yet we could hardly muster a shot on goal with all that posession. Let's not kid ourselves on here we were woeful last night and as usual did just enough to get by.
Our lack of movement and a cutting edge in the final 3rd is so glaringly obvious but he won't take steps to change it.
Was there a need for Hutton and Black against a team we knew weren't going to hurt us or even outplay us in midfield?
What was the point in having Daly up top on his own again when it's been proved week after week this system is not playing to our strengths.
That performance and line up will not be good enough to beat United. Deep down i think everyone knows it but that's not to say we cannot beat them. I firmly believe if we have all our top players fit we can beat them and Aberdeen but not with the system and personnel he picks.

Alan Muir. Fair point. He had a decent game. Had it been Aitken he'd have wrongly booked temps for diving AGAIN!
  23. Bobby Hume liked a post in a topic by MaddistonKnight in Lee Wallace 900k bid rejected from Forest but holding out for 1.4 mill?
I agree with the logic. However, what I always fail to see is how the buying club can make a statment along the lines of "untried" or in this case "a lower league team". If you want a player you pay the going rate, which is the rate that the seller will accept - if the two parties cannot agree the deal does not happen. What you think or say about the selling team is absolutely immaterial. In fact, in 8 games time we will be a promoted team - does Wallace's valuation then increase because we are then a second tier team? It does by the Forest logic. In a buyer/seller market the bargaining positions are King - if they really want a player, they'll pay "over the odds"; if we really need to sell, we'll accept "under the market value".

  25. Bobby Hume liked a post in a topic by TheLawMan in Players refuse 15% wage cut?
I believe i predicted this very reaction back at the AGM time.
If this was Murray and Co coming in and doing this, the very people having a cardiac arrest would be on here telling us that their hands have been forced due to previous mis-management. Wallace does it and its all the current Boards fault and the spivs should go.
I hope and believe that every Rangers fan understands that we needed to cut costs. Any Board in the UK worth their salt, would sit down and the first thing they would look at is the big ticket items. We should remember that the footballing staff wage last year was NOT the £7m that everybody keeps talking about, it was nearer £11m in reality. Now if you are capable of taking a step back and looking at objectively, cutting £11m by 15% is a much bigger and better answer than cutting 15% off the £3k we pay the milkman at Murray Park.
The wages our players are on are an utter disgrace. We brought in players and are paying them 3/4/5 times as much as they had ever earned in their previous footballing careers so to ask these guys to take a 15% cut is not as bad as it sounds, though i do have sympathy for the younger players whom have been let down very badly by both the Management team and the "PREVIOUS" Board members.
Lets face facts. We NEED fresh investment. We NEED to cut costs. This is the start of it and Wallace should be applauded rather than set upon.
