  1. Weird when it's frequently shown at the Olympics. Is it some lunatic PC move or worse?
  2. So what happens if a lot of people decide not to watch, where are you going to find the bodies to fill their seats?
  3. I’m sorry that some were so offended by my post to the point where, after much thought, they concluded it couldn’t possibly be from a Rangers supporter. There does seem to be one universal law, which can be applied to all forums. That is the delusional belief that a high post score automatically carries with it authority and profundity. And a low score vice versa. In reality a post total proves nothing beyond how much time is spent hovering over a keyboard. That aside I cannot be the only one who is dissatisfied with the way the team plays. I realise the league has been well won but the first half yesterday was enough to induce a coma. The results have been good but the style of play isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and like it or not some of those may be wondering about ST renewal. I’ve always had the greatest affection and respect for McCoist as a player and for being a natural at PR, but sadly I just don’t think he has it as a manager. Maybe he'd be a good number two, to handle the media?
  4. 1. If you're in your own half, pass the ball back to the player you got it from. 2. If you can't do that pass it back to the keeper, he'll lump it upfield. Never mind that you had possession and now you haven't. 3. Opposition corners and free kicks are incredibly dangerous moments (even more so when sitting on a healthy lead), so put aside any thoughts of creating a counter attack. Get every one back, especially players renowned for being great defenders, ie forwards, so you'll then be well prepared for any clearance to come straight back. 4. There's nothing more you need to know.
  5. With all the grossly offended on here. I thought I'd stumbled on a green and grey forum. Sticks and stones.............. God, not any more.
  6. We may not like it but what the media says does matter. It shouldn't but unfortunately the people who make the decisions in the football world are never bothered enough to seek out the facts, just 'hearsay' media evidence is enough. So if you want the club to remain in a quiet backwater just go ahead and boo or whatever, but it's not big and it's not clever. Personally I'm sick and tired of shows of public faux sympathy and grief.
  7. Remember seeing Peter Shilton score direct against Campbell Forsyth at Southampton in 1967, just exactly like the Boruc cock up. Final goal in a 5-1 away win, Jackie Sinclair had scored the 4th.
  8. You just have to laugh sometimes. They claimed it was ok because they played Rapid Vienna in Manchester in 1984. Only they appear to have forgotten that eufa ordered that after continuous missile throwing at CP. Brilliant!!!! Sad that they lost the replay.
  9. Unbelievable -have they no shame? Never thought I'd say it but I almost feel sorry for them!! Almost
  10. The defeat was bad, though not entirely a genuine surprise, but the nature of it was. However by far the worst aspect was the betrayal by so called fans in attending. How they could not see that for a number of reasons a united front was vital is beyond me... I fear for the future if this is the best we can do!
  11. How long before Heysel is airbrushed from history
  12. Inter Milan 3-1 in 1984, always an uphill struggle but what a fight with john Mclelland pushed up front. Dynamo Kiev 2-0 against what was tantamount to the bulk of the USSR national side, oh and adjusted pitch dimensions!
  13. And make sure they get stuffed in the corner like any other club, better still give them no tickets at all.
  14. I like Charles Green and in particular his attitude. He's also very cute though and the cynic in me wonders if the statement may have something to do with selling more tickets?
  15. Sorry but I can't adjust to feeling that inferior quite so soon.
  16. Just wondering what we will all think after what may be humiliation on Tuesday. And if they do pull off a miracle then you have to wonder why they couldn't do it against QoS, Annan etc?
  17. The loyalty to Ally is commendable but something is not right and, more to the point, has shown no sign of getting any better from Peterhead to QoS. Changes have to be made and whilst I would dearly love for Ally to be the man to do it, I can't see it. Only problem is who would be better - assuming they could be tempted to take what many may perceive to be a poison chalice?
  18. Won't get very far drawing every game so maybe don't calm down too much.
  19. Just wondering how long before Heysel was all down to Juventus fans? Assuming it's not airbrushed from history!
  20. Why were they mocking the dead, surely it was the living? And doesn't another team we know continually project the victim/it's not our fault culture?
  21. I was in Southampton in 1967 and saw Peter Shilton score the 5th goal in a 5-1 home defeat, the ground emptied very quickly!! Jackie Sinclair scored the 4th, can't remeber the others. Good Leicester side in those days, Willie Bell, John Sjoberg, Bobby Roberts, Dave Gibson amongst others. Shilton's clearance took one bounce and shot over Campbell Forsyth's head into the net.
  22. Thing I can't get past is that the poor victims at the front weren't killed by the ambulance service or the police. They were killed by the people behind pushing, as simple as that, and the strange thing is that this is never mentioned as the prime cause of the tragedy. With hindsight the police shouldn't have opened the exit gate but that decision cannot have been taken on a whim - there must have been concern about the increasingly dangerous situation outside the ground. And the ambulance service might, again with hindsight, have been better prepared and organised. It might be naive but surely if fans arrive, with tickets, reasonably behaved, in good time then there will not be any problems? We are all responsible for our actions and always will be. So yes I have sympathy for those who died or were injured. Unfortunately we have now reached the point where it seems to be accepted that the fans of Liverpool FC played no part whatsoever in the disaster. Is this just another symptom of the "anyone's fault but mine culture"?
  23. The real nightmare for me is the green and grey somehow getting into England
