Nicky Law under Stuart McCall (a man manager)
BROOMIERD replied to SomeGaveAll's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
The reason we are average at best has little to do with how we set up,or our coaching methods, too much is made of this imo, Good players will overcome poor tactics or formations, Our famed long ball tactic is not plan A it creeps into our play because the players we have run out of ideas. Without MacLeod in the team we really struggle, Wallace used to provide a chance or three with his runs down the left but seems badly out of form just now(may not be fully fit) . REFORMATION BEAR hits the nail on the head in regards to LAW. -
We're so bad, I wonder if it is intentional

You may be right. I thought it was 3rd v 4th for the right to play the 2nd. -

We need to finish 3rd or 4th to guarretee two full houses in play off games. I said a couple of weeks ago this was a cunning plan by the board so they could get some extra cash. I was joking of course but now....nah surely not. -
Watched Falkirk v Raith on Alba and thought Mackay had a decent game he can go past a player and played a couple of nice passes, He still looks a bit weak defensively but I would like him to stay in the oppositions half and just forget about defence. He had a big part in Raiths winner and I would like to see him in the team sooner rather than later..

i've watched some video's the night of his time at Motherwell seems to have been playing LM on the ones I watched. Not a lot to go on,some nice goals but was looking to see him boss a game but got fed up looking. I did enjoy watching Rangers beat Motherwell 3-0 with Law playing for Well. A big moment in that game was Law bottling it as keeper ran out to challenge him when he was through. Whats happened tp Deano he had a great game that night? -
Have you not been saying all along that with a new manager and different tactics this team would be half decent?

Motherwell did not seem to miss Law last season they still finished 2nd. -
I remember watching him on MOTD playing for Liverpool, didn't realise until he joined us how hard a player he actually was. Opposition players up here would go nowhere near a 50/50 if they were up against Souness. He was a bit late on occasion. http://youtu.be/ygVgxYa3mlo

Law is a master at moving but not to the right area. He is on the move constantly makes it look like he's trying but is actually cleverly hiding.

So has his son come to think of it

The thing is, if we were to name the worse player in the squad there would be about 8 or 9 different players put up..
-
You're right, forgot about him

Its not easy. I tried a couple of weeks ago but not much discussion on their teams fan boards. A couple of match reports gave Barry good right ups but he did cost them a goal in another game(losing ball in dangerous area). Raith have been struggling, they play Falkirk on Alba 5.30 so hopefully Barry gets a game.

We have been told for years that the players are under performing. It should be apparent now that they have not been, they have never been good enough. We have probably played above ourselves in a handful of games so we come away from these games thinking this is what we should play like all the time but we cant keep to these standards, because basically we have very poor players. Black bossed the SC final,he did play well but against a dire hibs team, that]s one game. Law was outstanding for Motherwell(was he really) Boyd was brilliant for Kilmarnock, but he was a dud in England,Turkey and in the MLS and now for us. Miller was dropped by a Canadian team,we know what to expect from him effort and little else. Big Jig has been a good servant but is finished. The only players I would say that have under performed are Wallace and Templeton. The rest of the squad including the youth are just not good enough, The only players that should be kept are Wallace and MacLeod. i would also keep McGregor and Mohsni as squad players, If a new manager comes in,no matter who it is he will not be able to improve this current group of players.

Any time I see posts like this the posters name never surprises me. He's the weak type of cnt you would leave behind in the jungle because he was slowing every other cnt down

This is not going to go down well. I was a supporter of McCoist right till the end not because I thought he was a legend and beyond critisism or that he would go onto become a great manager. The reason I supported the manager was because I was convinced the players would not improve under any other manager. Poster after poster would tell everyone that the manager was the problem,if we had better tactics, substitutions at the right time, training methods changed, this squad would just about rule the roost. Do any of you still think that, now, this is the time to step up and tell us all before its too late.. You wont step up because the excuse now is, its the same regime. Nothing is going to change until we have a complete overhaul of players, until then there is a 12/1 chance we can win this league. This slim chance depends on us supporting the players on the park and that will start today. My days of going to away games are over but I fully expect the fans there to lift the team like very few can no matter how the game is going. No Bears there 2-0 to them Bears behind us 2-1 Rangers and the dream stays alive. -
Ya coont a widnae av backed doon if a new the rest. You high posters no all dem tricks
