No one plays anywhere near close to the minutes as our lone front man as dessers does

His league goal per minute record is far better than Silva or Roofe and is as good as Danilo. If it was purely because we create so many chances then why is that?

No its fantastic play by the rest of the team lol

Some of the chances he's created himself plus Roofe has 2 goals in over 600 minutes so how does that work?

Its not just his finishing that's the issue, morelos was fucking howling at times when in on goal the chances he missed etc, however when he could be arsed he was fucking outstanding at other aspects of the game

Theres literally fuck all about dessers game that is good, he can run the channels etc like say miller, he can't ragdoll centre halves and bully them like morelos, and he can't finish like colak

We literally bought a striker who hasnt got one aspect of forward play that he's top notch at, not one part

It's not luck he gets the number of chances he does.

Tav has played over 4200 minutes this season.

Cant find any Prem players that are close to that. Rice and Fernandez who have played the most minutes for Arsenal and Utd under 3500.

Pep and Klopp rotate even more.

Our fixture list and lack of ability to rotate has been brutal.

Tav is superhuman. But it’s not surprising we look fucked and are picking up injuries left, right and centre.

The likes of Rice and Fernandes also play internationals through the season. Both could play 3 more friendlies before the euros and are likely to compete well into the latter stages of that as well. That's the case for many players at that level. Tavernier and Goldson are able to play so much club football because they aren't internationals.

I'd prefer the league was condensed and finished earlier to allow the international games at the end of the season. That way international teams had about 6 weeks together and those not involved had an adequate rest before the next season.

How would that work for the countries with leagues that don't run in sync with ours?

Gio was never going to win with his summer, we had played over 60 games the season of seville, had he ran them into the ground pre season no doubt there would have been complaints about how the players were shattered etc etc

Sometimes too much can be just as bad, remember how unfit they all looked coming back from dubai before covid hit

He didn't run them into the ground at all. Airfield said it was the complete opposite of that.

I might be wrong but I thought he was one of our better players just before his injury.  He also wasn’t too bad during our invincible season.

My opinion is we are too quick to write him off.  I learned this lesson with Ridvan most recently.

He was good during the 55 season but was terrible just before he got injured. Gio played him as a right winger.

Can we handle the potential loss of

Sima, Silva, dessers, cortes, roofe, jack, balogun, barisic, wright, davies, lammers, hagi, lundstram, matondo

All either OOC or undeniably not good enough or loans going back to their clubs

Even if we did clear most of them, sell them etc, and save a fortune wages, would we find even 70% of that number within our transfer and wage budget to beef the squad up again

They will be out the door before any other player on that list. Not a chance they get offered a new contract. It's throwing money away.

Only worry with the clearout needed is that it is a massive turnover of players, we might end up doing it over two summers which is shite

Dont be surprised if someone like jack and roofe get a years extension just to beef the squad up till summer 2025

    Not a chance.

He did lash one in against celtic after dessers bottled shooting and actually gave him a poor pass.

That Dessers did create from winning the ball back aye?

Roofe's offered next to nothing for the minutes he's played. If we're relying on him we're fucked.

Based on the fact he’s a significantly better footballer who will actually get involved in the game

Rhyme off all the stats you want, that fact won’t change. Dessers is mostly an empty jersey when you’re playing against teams at any level above Ross County and Dundee

He was a significantly better footballer 3 seasons ago. He's nowhere near that player now.

The stats I'm rhyming off are goals. Pretty important for a striker. Dessers has scored 16 this season. The same teams Roofe has scored against and another 13 on top of that. He's got 6 more assists as well. So what is it Roofe is doing when he's involved in the game?

It's not like if you take Shankland out of the team that everything disappears though, someone else is in his place albeit probably not as good they'd still be getting goals/assists. They're 11 points ahead of 4th place, I don't think they lose 12 points without Shankland.

He's scored more than half of their goals. It would be very close for third without him.

  13. 31 minutes ago, J-Maestro said:

Think they're recruiting well enough that they'll not get the same quality as Shankland but still be comfortably 3rd next year again. I think they'd still be 3rd without Shankland this season.

Debatable. Based on Xg they are massively over performing. 16 points better off than expected. Shankland will be a major part of that.

If he can last 60/70 minutes then he’s a better option than Dessers who can come on once they’re tired and miss a few sitters when we’ve already sewn the game up

Based on what? He's got 2 goals in over 600 minutes this season.

  15. 3 minutes ago, MacBoyd said:

Be hard to beat them with a striker who cannot finish or hold ball up like dessers imho

But one who can't stay fit and has scored 2 goals all season is the answer.

I think we’ll see Borna, Jack, Roofe, McLaughlin, Balogun all released.

And we’ll be trying like fuck to shift Dessers, Lammers, Davies, Matondo, Dowell who take big wages and don’t contribute at the level required.

Hagi still on the books as well.

Once again I’ll reiterate folk on here have short memories and were calling for Tav’s head before clement came in , He was getting called spineless and a cereal loser 😂. We do this year after year at Rangers we hold onto players for far too long it’s what fucked us after 55 . Would be a great ending to his time at Rangers to lift the treble and move on either into retirement or somewhere else so we can move on and build for the future

    No it wouldn't.
