If that's the case, and I've no reason to doubt you, then the SPFL are fuckin clowns. There's no reason why they can't allow one fixture to run over and have two sets of fixtures prepared if need be. Infinitely better than playing games behind closed doors.
On another note imo Rangers should be insisting on contingency plans for Wednesday NOW. There's heavy rain forecast on Tuesday and rain on the other days too though less.
Playing on pitches like St Mirren and St Johnstone's ploughed fields is a leveller and not conducive to playing football. Dens will be like a ploughed feed with areas of bog flung in
The fact that teams don't roll their pitch or cut their grass when us or the tarriers visit (occasionally boasting about it) sums up the tin pot league perfectly
The SPFL aren't exactly known for common sense though.

He came across like a greeting faced dick tbh
Lots of what he said regarding not playing behind closed doors or at Airdrie made sense but the bit about delaying the post split fixtures is bollocks. Both teams are doing nothing on cup semi weekend and the midweeks before and after.
First post split fixtures are 3 weeks away ffs, Motherwell need to fit in 2 fixtures and Dundee 3 in 22 days.
They made us play 7 games in 17 days including 5 league, a cup final and UEFA final
The spfl want the pre split games done by the 14th.

I still think he'll play.

Aye, I'm not saying there's no pressure on them. I just think there's more pressure on us.
I was looking forward to this game all week, now I'm dreading it. I feel sick already.
I don't agree. No matter the result the outcome is still in our hands. I'd much rather be in our position than theirs right now.
I just want it over and done with though.

You think so? It feels a lot more make or break for us. Our record at their dump has been terrible for ages now, so a win there is pretty unlikely. They'll be confident that they can get three points back after the split, I think.
If we win they need to win every game and hope we drop points elsewhere. They can't afford to lose.

We will need to play much better

I'm not sure he's suited to the way we play even if we could get him on the cheap.

That's the way it should be to honest. I posted earlier that's how it's approached in England so it might actually be the case up here. Somebody should come out and explain it though.

Just now, SuperLeeMcCulloch said:If the penalty was scored which it wasn't, the encroaching player got an advantage by scoring hence why it wasn't a retake.
I dont agree with it but thats the rule as far as I can gather.
That's not the rule. It's immaterial whether there was a goal or not. If both players encroach it should be a retake.

There is an exception because wright scored from the rebound, if a hibs player gets in before him then its a retake but because Wright got there first its hibs ball.
That's not the rule. If both attacking and defending players are encroaching it should be a retake.

Sounds like he could have made the game but didn't want to risk him on the plastic pitch (and Livi are shit).
I'd be amazed if he doesn't start. This is a huge game for Rodgers. Hopefully he's not fully match fit and it backfires.
He hadn't started back full training before the weekend. Middle of this week going by Kennedy's interview after the game.
I'll be shocked if he doesn't start though.

Pretty sure he was rested due to Livi’s plastic pitch specifically to come back for the old firm game for them. Wee turncoat bastard is too important for them not to play this one.
He's only due back in full training this week.

The goalie saves it, he’s not on the line. Encroachment points should have been irrelevant unless the photos we’ve seen of Marshal aren’t quite frozen at correct point.
I don’t think they are official VAR photos
I think Marshalls position looks different depending on what angle you look at.

What was his injury ? whatever it was needs subtly targeted early doors.
Calf/Achilles. Need to be testing them both.

Does the summary table not suggest the penalty should have been retaken regardless of the Hibs players encroaching?

For what it is worth the English premier league rules are that it is only encroachment if there player is physically touching the box. So the Hibs players leaning ahead of Wright are not infringing. They also say that you have to materially impact the outcome which contradicts the IFAB rule.

Video Assistant Referees (VAR): Penalties
Alan Shearer outlines when penalty decisions can be reviewed or overturned in the Premier League
The VAR can intervene in one of the following instances:
- A clear and obvious error by the on-field match officials relating to goalkeeper movement
- A double touch by the penalty-taker
- Feigning at the point of the kick by the taker
- Encroachment by players that has a direct impact on the outcome of the kickThe 2020/21 protocol does not allow for tolerance levels, so if the goalkeeper saves a penalty and his foot is over the goalline then VAR will advise it is retaken.
If the goalkeeper is off his line and the ball hits the post or goes over, it won’t be retaken unless the 'keeper has a material impact on the kick being missed.
For player encroachment in the box, it is now judged on any part of a player’s body that is on the ground when the kick is taken.
Therefore, if any part of the foot is on the penalty area or arc line it is encroachment. The player must still have a material impact on the outcome of the kick.

Gordon Duncan says the encroachment only applies if the player is directly involved. Since Le Fondre didn't clear the ball, the encroachment doesn't apply to him,
Hmm... I'm not so sure about that...
Gordon hasn't read the rules then.

Anyone got a picture of the league table when they were 8 clear?
I don't think it was ever 8 unless it was when we had games in hand. We were 7 behind after the Aberdeen game.

Likely to be Beaton, Clancy or Collum.

Whilst I do feel that the penalty was soft and I'd be livid if that was given against us, the encroachment ruling has me scratching my head. There seems to be numerous other things wrong as well as Wright having a toe over the line (Marshall off his line, Hibs player inside the D, numerous Hibs player leaning beyond the line, etc). I'd really like an explanation to actually understand how the rule is judged, because I don't actually know. Is it feet or any part of the body that can legally touch the ball over the line?
Half of the penalties taken will be void if you're going to that fine of a margin.
The law should be completely rewritten. It should only be encroachment if you're interfering with play. In that case the decision would have been correct but that's not how the rule is written.

I think it will be BS the Turks have form for talking absolute pish when it comes to courting players. I saw one headline saying they have completed the deal.
really, so if it’s completed they are still signing him even if he cops a career ending injury in the next few weeks.
The story will be bullshit but those type of deals happen regularly.

That's a disgrace. Motherwell should refuse to play on safety grounds.
