I have to laugh at this Warburton hype even Tony Mowbrays record makes him look like mourinho next to this guy.
What is his 'hype'....folk just like the look of him and would like him to get the manager's job. I don't see how you can describe it as hype.
-
A fuckin nod
And a smile!
-
-
The guy has to be at it or talking nonsense.
It goes to Rangers Retail for sure.
-
A lot of folk missing the OP's point.....
I tend to believe that would be the case to be honest. I believe he was only ever in the running out of respect.
-
Why would the bookies suspend betting on Warburton if it isn't going to be him though? As people have previously stated the bookies are very rarely wrong!
Suspending betting could mean anything, however, they didn't actually suspend the betting.
His name was removed in error according to Paddy Power....

I wonder if he'll sit at the conference table with his 30 million in a pile next to him, like they do on Dragons Den.
He's in for 50%

Periera may have a great pedigree, but what the fuck does he know of the shithole end of Scottish football? What players will he have contacts with that will want to come to Scottish Championship? Face it, Periera is perhaps a choice if we were competing for CL.
Warburton for me. His contacts in English Championship, L1 and L2 would be exactly what we need right now to build a team of players to win and move on. And more importantly, likely to want to come.
Yeah, pretty much agree with that.
- Decent style of football - check
- Sucess in getting promotion and kicking on from there - check
- Involvement of someone who knows what the club's is about - check
It's the right fit.

So it's either a guy sacked from the mighty Bournmouth or a guy going to get sacked from Olympiacos!!
I would've stuck with McCall but I know I was in the minority
Hahaha, where to begin.
-
First of all we don't know if he is coming at all.
His performance as a manager is relevant. It shows his capability. He failed as a manager.
Being no 2 to a successful Warburton previously gives us no indication of his ability.
Would rather it was someone else.
Do you realise how stupid that sounds mate?
-
He's not coming as a manager.
And was assistant to Warburton during the success last season?
-
He will after Ashley's men shred King at the EGM.
ST sales and share issue will be a disaster without king revealing the plan, including how much he is personally investing and when. If he ducks it and states that we will need to wait for the outcome of ST sales and the share issue before he shows his hand, then we will know his intentions are dishonest and is a con man.
Is that Ashley's men that have been booted out on their arse?
-
How can he state "new manager" if McCall still has a shout?
How do you know he stated 'new manager'?
I think you are just being pedantic there.
-
And the shortlist is who?
McCall and Warburton are 2 of them.
-
Can he speak English?
-
I don't think it's the be all and end all with Warburton/Weir.
There are other options that could work.
Hopefully we'll have someone in place ok a weeks time and we can get the ball rolling on securing targets.
Regardless of current investment we've got wages freed up by the outgoing players that can be utilitised.
-
I'm starting to think they want to hold the EGM next Friday then announce it, maybe.
-
He's waiting until after the EGM for fuck sake.
-
If this has any truth it sounds like King is saying you'll work for your money and maybe hoping he refuses so he can terminate his contract.....
-
3 are good enough for what I have in my head as a realistic 11 next season.
McGregor
Wallace
Murdoch
Other than they they would be back up or asked to find a new club.
-
The thing with the Burnely job is they are relying on Sunderland taking Dyche, that could be weeks down the line.
Warburton will have to make a decision on us (if offered the job) within a week I would think.
-
I agree with the majority of what you say, however if there is a choice between ourselves and a top championship / lower premiership team then i fear we will lose out.
The opportunity to manage in Europe is a plus as you say but the ultimate aim would imo be to get one of the top 6/7 teams in the Premiership, this would be achieved much easier by taking the Rodgers / Martinez route. In comparison to say Neil Lennon who won consecutive titles, qualified for the CL group stages, reached the last 16, beat Barcelona, Benfica etc and ended up at Bolton.
Unfortunately we play in a footballing backwater where the winning of trophies is considered of little value.
If Mark Warburton is our first choice then we must move quickly and decisively before others show an interest.
I know what you are saying, however, listen to his interview.
He talks about the project. We fit he bill perfectly
2nd biggest budget in the country, chance to build his own team and in a season or so, play in Europe.
Instead of say Burnley. Better budget, take them up from a difficult league, struggle at the bottom of the league.
Granted he might get noticed quicker, but then what? Sunderland job? Hardly enticing.
-
Very encouraged by that interview. He's certainly interested and sounds like he fits the bill.
-
Just out of curiosity who is talking to these people, I thought King and Murray were both out of the country?
Maybe it was a week or 2 ago?

Some of the comments are embarrassing!
Aye it's 100% McCall even though it's obvious Warburton is favourite.
And the sun are readying us for McCall
