The Michael Beale Thread.
LaudrupsPatrickBoots replied to DavieMacRFC's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Thursday night might take a bit of pressure off him short term. It doesn’t change the fact he still doesn’t know what his strongest 11 is, he seems to have lost faith in his summer signings already and we’ll still continue to struggle to break down teams in the league. Let’s not kid ourselves either, it was a great result against Betis but we rode our luck at times and it could easily have gone either way. -
Thought it was his best game in a long time last night. Need to see those runs forward a bit more often from him though.

Can’t really argue with this
-
Atletico aside it’s an average group. Both Lazio and Feyenoord were in the Europa League last season with Sturm Graz Midtjylland. Lazio didn’t qualify and Feyenoord went through with a points total that wouldn’t have been enough to secure 2nd place in any of the other groups. It’s the weakest group in the Champions League this season by some distance.
-
Actually thought at first when the draw was made they had a decent chance of going through. It’s basically an average Europa League group with Champions League money let’s be honest. The fallout if they don’t even manage to secure 3rd should be enjoyable.

A laboured performance against the worst side in the league isn’t going to win over anyone. -

Agree to an extent. More than half his spend went on Lammers and Dessers though. Would you have them over Sakala and Colak? -

Dessers looks like we’ve went for a direct replacement for Morelos. Only he’s replaced the unfit waste of space version. -

Colak. He had more goals at this point last season than our 3 new strikers combined. Binned because he didn’t suit Beale’s style of play. -

This almost comes across like him throwing the attackers under the bus though when ultimately it falls back on him. He identified these players to come in and lead the line for us while he was happy enough to let a proven goal scorer walk out the door. -

Aye but we’ll have a lot of shots though. -

Sadly this would actually be the case for a large section of our support. ”That’s it clicked. We’ve turned the corner” -
He had his chance here and blew it. He had several chances actually.

He’s a bawhair away from using tumblers to explain his formation. -

People need to get over Roofe’s goal being disallowed. Shoe on the other foot we wouldn’t be complaining about the decision. We weren’t cheated. We were shite. -
Never coming back anyway even if we wanted it to happen. Only way he gets a move now is if he performs well for Santos and, regardless of how shite the standard looked last night, him performing well in that league would most likely put him out of our price range.

Cunts complaining about the team staying overnight in hotels fs. Be wanting the kit man sacked next so the players can take turns of washing them. -

I don’t think it would have mattered. His only real achievement as a manager was winning 3 league titles with a Lyon side who were already champions when he took over and they went on to win another 3 even more convincingly after he left. His career after leaving us tells its own story. He just wasn’t a very good manager. -

Aye he was about 21/22. Think he was basically a Lyon reserve player up until that point. Decent player but couldn’t get away from us quick enough. -

Clement wanted to leave as soon as Le Guen was sacked. Followed him to PSG I’m sure. -

By the end of September we had played 8 games under Le Guen. Won 3, drew 3 and lost 2. The guy was honking so let’s not rewrite history here. It took him until November before he managed to win 2 league games in a row ffs -

He didn’t though. He had a honking start in the league. -

Don’t think he was short on offers tbf. I remember him being linked with quite a few big jobs before we managed to get him only for it to turn into an utter shambles.
