Pedro was brought in to hype up the faithful as a mysterious foreign manager with a big payoff to his former club (probably glad to see him go so no pay out) for one reason only. To hype up season ticket sales. In reality he is an unknown wee fella. It's Joey Barton again. The board need to pretend they are hiring the big guns when in reality they are hiring a manager who in my opinion is light in his loafers, not very good and in love with his hero the tranny shagger of the septic cunts.

Quite right. He actually thought he would get 100% relief so it would cost him nothing. SARS rejected this and wee Davey has been raging ever since.

I certainly didn't see any sign of the devil he promised would come out if performance was poor.

That only applies to dividends. Nothing to stop directors taking large salaries and bonuses. -
Club 1872 - Statement of Resignation

Yeah, "The Director feel the blog contains inaccuracies". Couldn't make it up. Corporate experience but failed O grade English. -
Don't forget it is in the public record in SA that he also claimed all £20m back against his SA tax return thinking he would get 100% tax relief and was horrified that SARS would not accept it. He therefore thought he could gain a seat on the board of a well know UK Plc and most successful football club in the world leading to credibility and gain plenty of shares for absolutely fuck all. As I said 2 years ago, hell hath no fury like a conman conned out of £20m.

***** The Official Taigs v Rangers Match Thread *****

Big Clint making our day. -
Seriously, if we get a result against the jacobites next week I would consider keeping him as coach.
-
Today we saw Rangers back on form. Slaughtering the other teams in the league as it should be. Maybe Murty's methods took a while to sink through but he should take a bow today. Hats off to him and the team and long may it continue (especially against the jacobites).

King has admitted he did not follow Rangers as a boy in Castlemilk. He stuck 20 million into one of Murray's companies around 2000 because he thought he would get 100% write off for SARS tax while SDM could use him as a lead investor in the next round of share issues. King saw this as a way of gaining legitimacy as the director of a UK Plc at no cost. Unfortunately SARS did not see it the same way and King has been waiting to get his money back since that day. This is the reason he invested IMHO and his plan was always to sell his shares on to some other gullible fool, probably in China.

What I would say on this topic is that auditors main role when reviewing the true and fair nature of accounts is that the assets and liabilities in the balance sheet at the reporting date can be reconciled to prove their legitimacy and that the retained profits are not being overstated or understated by assets and liabilities being over/under valued. Actual transactional amounts reflected in the p+l activities are regularly not inspected in detail so costs and incomes can be manipulated and distorted and depending on the diligence of the audit firm could be missed. When we inspect distressed companies we regularly find financial activity which is not recorded or is coded to cost centres they have no relation to. This is usually fraud by the owners / directors. Funnily enough the auditors never seem to pick up on theses matters. Having said that, when it comes to the accuracy of wage cost transactions the auditor has the year end paye liability to reconcile within the balance sheet and the new real time reporting of PAYE system clearly shows the total gross, tax, and NI liabilities cumulatively throughout the year, updated live to HMRC within days of each payment run so this is one area that the auditors would have to be very incompetent to miss. Campbell Dallas are a pretty good firm so I would say it would be inconceivable for the wage costs to be inaccurate and I think English is crazy to make his statement.

Confusion Over Management Team's Future
weeneily replied to spanther22's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Well this is an entertaining Friday night. -
Fair enough, that is indeed how he put it. I looked up his quote on SKY back in August. Maybe these stories in the press are just to keep the pressure on now that we in in January and know where we stand in the league. He still has time to come good I suppose. "I think we haven't finished doing business yet and given the fact we are in the Premier League, it's a more competitive league, I think we'll keep more in reserve for January as well and just look at where we think we are league wise at that point in time".

As I said yesterday , these press releases are approved by the Glasgow based board. This was the transfer window when money was going to be spent according to King back in the Summer. As it's not going to happen the board who actually have to walk the streets of Glasgow are about to make King's lies about investment their scapegoat.

You're right there. Back in my Clydesdale Electrical Store days we used to pay the Sunday Mail / Record something like £1m a year in advertising to compete with Curries/Dixons/Comet/. Any time the Sunday Mail received a complaint about us to "the judge" section of the paper they would phone us and if we did not want the complaint published they would bin it. Only if the customer was wrong would they print it. All for the sake of their advertising revenue. One thing I've learnt recently is if a company is performing well you hardly see any press coverage. Only when a company is doing badly do you see positive press stories springing. Companies which are doing well don't need press officers.
-
The media is easy to control. I usually write the press releases about our clients and our own businesses. They don't print anything without our approval. Even a bad news release can by scuppered by one phone call as long as you offer them an interesting story in compensation. Traynor is at Ibrox most days and if he lets a negative article get out he is not doing his job hence my comment.
-
I'm surprised that Jim Traynor approved that article for release unless it is a build up to a bit of good news from King.

Do you think Warburton had any involvement in the decision to sign Joey Barton ? I always thought it was a Board decision to stimulate season ticked sales while allowing Joey some publicity for his upcoming book and following career in the media. I told my mates he would be off before his book launch date and funnily enough he was. Warburton doing his disappearing act around the time of the signing and then coming back to an extended contract and pay rise helped fuel my suspicions that he was being paid to keep his mouth shut. That makes more sense than Joey being a Warburton target but of course I could be just being paranoid.

Urgent Food Bank Appeal - Motherwell game
weeneily replied to 50ShadesofBlue's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Scotland is one of the best countries for scroungers to lead a good life and we absolutely should not need food banks. I also believe that wee Nicola uses their existence for political gains. I have no time for the modern version of the SNP although my grandfather the original wee Neily (who was 6 ft 3 and 16 stone) was a founder member of the SNP back in the 1930's when a good protestant work ethic was at their core. They wanted to look after their fellow man who had fallen on hard times, not create a nation of lazy bastards. Having said that, we have to remember that there are a lot of poor souls out there and some are the result of political policies since the 70's. When becoming pregnant at 16 would get you a council flat and having 5 kids in the 80's would get you a 3 bedroom terrace. Over the past 5 years or so the Tory government have tried to get families who have grown within the benefits culture to start working or face sanctions. I'm proud to say that we have taken on many good people within our businesses who have never worked a day in their lives but have turned out to be fantastic employees. Some of them are kids who's parents or even grandparents have never worked. The bottom line for me is this. I am in the fortunate position that my parents back in the 60's worked hard to feed our family and pushed me and my brother to get the best education they could. But plenty kids never got this support and their kids and gran kids are suffering today. There but by the grace of God go I is my motto. Remember also the women whose partners drink their benefits away each week. We need to look after then and the kids. I contribute to a Local food bank each week and always will in the name of doing the best for the sake of humanity. I also consider it part of my caring Protestant believes. -
I remember it well. 21 years old and unaware of the glories lying ahead. I think you could still get a ham roll from a cardboard box soaked in piss on the base so you make sure you picked one from the top. Maybe health and safety had banned them by then along with the Agnews bag with your half bottle and 12 cans in it. The kids today will never know that joy.

Barton enjoys being in the media on shows like question time and I'm sure he's clever enough to know that playing for Rangers in his twilight years will raise his profile for a future career on TV. He's not match fit yet but he is the type of guy who will give 100% to have a great first season with us and he is a genuine top class player when he is at the top of his game. Once he has bedded in with the rest of the team and knows their turn of speed etc and is at full fitness I'm sure he'll be a great asset as he will always give 100%.
