  1. Comes down to the judgement of potentially scooping a high transfer fee if he can calm down for a year. Versus breaking in a handful of £2m young players, clearing out the duds, and hoping we get lucky. They got Larsson for £650k for example - he was a big part in stopping our 10. I reckon we'll end up keeping him by default, but at this point it might just be best to get shot of him. Today seemed like the last straw. Some people just CAN'T change - no matter how many shrinks they go through. It's like slutty girls or wife-beaters. BBC article today says as much. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47744465 Talking about attacking, but it's the language. "I would never change the way I am," "hot player on the field... passionate... i like clashing.."
  2. That's in in a nutshell. They have the Euro money now and if Dembele manages to keep up that form, they will sell him on for £10m next year, while Barton goes out to pasture. That penalty win might have been the worst thing that happened, giving a false sense of complacency.
  3. Just a matter of saving face now. It's going to take a few seasons to compete again to be realistic. Their European money gives them a huge advantage.
  4. Complete reset, formation change, early goal, and who knows. Need to keep possession.
  5. Reckon this is the best post on there. We have ourselves to blame in a lot of ways. And yes, we know the other lot are just as bad. But there is a large vocal section of our support who come across as anti-Scottish sometimes and there is no point denying it. And the SNP get pelters here, but look at who caused all the problems for our club in the first place: The UK Tory government and Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs. All our support for queen and country made NO difference to them. Instead of coming to a reasonable long term agreement with the taxman, our club got hammered. And don't believe for a second that HMRC is independent. The civil service and the instruments of government work for the government of the day. We were made an example of - with the club paying a heavy price because of one man taking a gamble.
  6. Couldn't give a shit about his past or any of his personal opinions. He will be wanting to prove the doubters wrong for sure. Outspoken guys like that, it's often about their own personal pride first. So even if it is for his own pride and glory, so long as he does the job, that's what counts.
