Once the season starts Beale can only concentrate on upcoming matches and the 1st team squad. That suggests the need for a DoF to take some of the weight off the manager. I am not sure that we need a DoF. All the other departments at the club already have their own manager who probably don't need somebody appointed over them who to justify their position may well start interfering in things they know little about. On balance I think that we will be fine without one.

I don't think that we are getting a significant fee for Borna given his age. A one year extension means he will not be walking next summer. Unless we get a good bid from another club then to me it makes sense to keep him.
