  1. QotS today were up against it. Livingston had to win and the game didn't matter to QotS. I wouldn't read much into their performance today. Teams who need to win usually beat teams that don't need to. I still think we'll beat them though, and quite comfortably over the 2 legs. Hibs in the next round I'm not so sure.
  2. Doesn't sound like many people on this thread enjoy football. We've got a cup final between two teams who never win anything. Football people love stuff like that. Yet many on here want to sneer at it and at efforts to get people along to the stadium. I just don't understand the mindset. What have the SFA suits got to do with enjoying a great occasion? It's really sad.
  3. Ok, I don't think you're getting it. Try it this way. What's the point in supporting a football team if you don't enjoy football?
  4. That's a different issue. It doesn't really have anything to do with the sneering attitude some people are showing towards the cup final. My point really is, if you like football why not just enjoy the football? Do we need to make every single issue an us v them fight?
  5. McCall spoke really well. Even if he doesn't get the job in the summer, his legacy will be bringing much needed professionalism to how our squad is run.
  6. Why link the arseholes who run the SFA with the Scottish Cup final? I think a lot of people seem to have forgotten that they used to like football. FIFA is run by arseholes. Do you ignore the World Cup? UEFA is run by arseholes. Do you ignore the Euros and the Champions League? The cup final this year will be a great occasion between two teams who never win anything. Good luck to them. Enjoy it. Like the St Johnstone win last year, or St Mirren winning the League Cup a couple of years back, or the Edinburgh derby final. All great occasions. It's football. Enjoy it and stop moaning.
  7. Good post. All other stuff aside, we compete every year for the oldest trophy in world football. That's something we should cherish and support. The Scottish Cup is a great competition.
  8. So nobody has any idea how an empty Hampden for the cup final is in any way good for Rangers? Glad we've cleared that up. Our stature in the game is not helped by Scottish football being in the toilet. I reckon they'll get a decent crowd anyway. Every time there's a non-Old Firm final people talk about a tiny crowd but it never happens. It's always 45,000 plus.
  9. I still don't get how an empty stadium for the cup final is good for Rangers. Any ideas?
  10. Nothing to do with that. We play in Scottish football. An empty stadium for the showpiece final is bad news for everyone. It makes the whole thing look Mickey Mouse and reflects badly on anything we achieve. It also puts off sponsors who might invest in the game. Both of these things are clearly bad for us. Again, I ask you, would you rather they charged forty quid and there was nobody there? Believe it or not, the Scottish Cup final is shown in plenty of countries abroad. I'll be able to watch it live in Malaysia on my telly.
  11. Err... We should, since we are involved in Scottish football. An empty stadium for the cup final is bad news for Scottish football. We play football in Scotland so we would look Mickey Mouse by association. Why is that so hard for you to grasp? Empty stadium for cup finals makes it harder to attract sponsors and makes the whole thing look amateurish. If you can't see why that's bad for us then you're obviously not thinking long term.
  12. Yes. Are you familiar with supply and demand? The SFA need a good crowd for the image of the game. It is their job to protect the image of the game. They have priced this one accordingly and should be praised for that. Do you think they should have made it forty quid each and had an empty stadium beamed around the world? Great idea....
  13. I don't understand why people are making fun of this. Surely it's a good thing that in the age of people being priced out of football the SFA are pricing a cup final in a way that makes it possible for many more people to go along, take their kids etc. ICT and Falkirk have earned their right to get there. As for those asking why we have to pay more for cup finals, have you never heard of the concept of supply and demand? It's a good thing that the SFA are trying to get more people along to watch a big occasion. Or do we just have to criticise anything they do, even when it's good?
  14. You can tell people have hit a wall when they change the subject.
