What frustrates me is I think that Gio only used the bench because of the Braga game but it ended up showing that the wider squad can contribute. This. I don't think Gio is the right man long term and we need some serious surgery in the summer but they aren't a great side. They've built a winning machine against the cannon fodder in this league but in Europe they've been shite and even in the victories against us they weren't any great. I don't think CL money will create a huge gulf tbh. They'll probably spend a chunk on making Jota and Carter-Vickers permanent. It won't be easy but a decent manager with 15-20m can build a side to wipe the floor with them. Just can't see it being us under this management and board.

I hate they cunts. Have literally just proven if you press sides at this level you'll beat them nearly every time. Never understand managers that set us or them up to sit off at times. That said, think the run in and winter break has helped them get there. I think 3 of 4 out of Kamara, Kent, Aribo and Morelos are moving on in the summer. Wouldn't trust this board much but you'd be expecting at least £20m from that to rebuild the side. I know none are in good form but Kent and Aribo in particular will gain a little from being English to clubs down south. 3-4m on Matheus would be great business I think. Thought he was class the first time we played them and again last night. So comfortable on the ball, helps the team beat the press and very commanding.

We just have no game plan. I'd be shocked if we actually analyse the opposition because we never exploit their weaknesses. Plain as day that lump at the back couldn't handle any sort of pace. He gets booked and we never play another ball in behind. McLaughlin could have made a big difference for their press I think, seen it with their keeper it helps so much when they can get their foot on the ball and start attacks. I was delighted when we got Gio but even though these aren't his players he's been here long enough to implement a style and identity. We look lost.
