  1. Wonder how many Dutch coached sides are scared of playing football?
  2. They aren't his players but he's picking the current crop. Refusal to drop Greggs. Arfield out wide. Not identifying weaknesses. Sakala has that defender on toast and we've barely tested him since booking. Thought I was being harsh but I really think we may have to make a decision on Gio.
  3. Hard to judge players like Weston, Zukowski and Sands as they are either signed for the future or just in the door. Ramsey is similar for me, I know a lot think it's a huge waste of money. I think if we got him pre season and up to speed he could have been a special signing for the season. Still time to deliver the goods in Europe. Sakala is 50/50 for me, as a freebie I think we'll make money on him but he's just so raw. Wouldn't be an issue if he was 16 but at 25 you aren't going to teach him how to close control when running. Can be very clumsy but equally can cause havoc for the opposition. Wanted Itten to work but just think we have to accept he's it's not his level. Kamberi mk II. Oboforh. Be surprised to even see him play. Wright is another one that I think there's something there but no manager seems to be able to fully get it out of him. Good back up for the home grown rule but probably worse than Barrie McKay. Bacuna and Simpson - utter shambles for signings. Diallo. Just don't think he was ever going to suit the game in Scotland and can't be showing much else as he never gets a chance now. Not squaring it against DU was idiotic. Rest I think you could argue have been successful to a degree but none really stand out. Bassey and Hagi are probably the only players that seem to actually be on the right path of buying them young, having an impact in the first team and (hopefully) selling on for a profit.
  4. Not an overall fan of 3-5-2 but think it could be our best option until the end of the season. Got to try something. Whether we try Kent up there or even Sakala. I'm sort of at a loss as to what we do without Alfie. Fully expect Gio to play exactly the same with Roofe or whoever else in that Morelos role that never works.
  5. Wonder if this might actually help keep Alfie at the club. Sell likes Aribo, Kent, Kamara and even lowball offers you'd be hoping we'd make £20m from those minimum and maybe this season might not feel like that but at points we've thought we'd get that for each of them 😂 Have to reinvest the money correctly but can't say I have a lot of faith on that front. New deal for Alfie, get him firing with an understanding that he'll move on at the end of next season. Wishful thinking probably, be surprised to see him in a Rangers shirt again 😔
  6. If he stays he will need backing. As some have said, we've seen in certain games he can change things but at other times he's flat out refused to and it's cost us. Even on his winning run we were honking in 90% of his away games domestically. I was hoping Gio and Vos together would be a fantastic partnership and maybe it still can be but the pressure will be on from game 1 next season.
  7. There's plenty of blame that needs to be handed out - GvB, the board and the players. Ultimately it's Gio's job to get results and we just aren't doing it enough. A great start is the reason he hasn't been chased already. If he can't fix this for next season we will be 10-15 behind by Christmas. Today that Starfelt cunt did what he always does and sliced every ball, shanked every pass and constantly fouled. We then left him alone for the rest of the game. I don't get why we aren't identifying weakness and exploiting it. Instead we saw how well they were dealing with shit crosses and thought we'd keep trying that instead.
  8. Amount of times he strided out of defence only to play some shite ball was ridiculous. Summed up his performance when we were chasing a goal in the final minutes and he passed the ball directly to them under 0 pressure. I would have been happy for him to stay a while back but I'd rather he just left now. Actually quite happy we didn't give him a top wage. I'd definitely be keeping McLaughlin, Tav, Bassey, Jack, Lundstram, Hagi. Think we have no choice in keeping Roofe, Wright, Helander and Sakala. Players I'd punt for the right money but keep if not would be Kent, Aribo, Kamara. Think we will almost certainly lose Morelos. Have to find a way to get rid of Itten, Simpson and Borna. Let Goldson, Davis, McGregor, Balogun and Arfield walk. Need to find 20-30m from the sales and invest it all back into squad. Souttar is a good free transfer if he can be fit but we probably need at least another 2 at centre back. Hopefully Doekhi is one. Then we have to spend money everywhere else. A new number 1, a goalscoring midfielder, a goalscoring wide player and a striker are top priorities.
  9. A modern manager can change the style. They came to do a job today and it worked but fucking hell that game was there for us to be won and we shat the bed. We've got so much quality that isn't being utilised correctly. In fact, all we are doing is lowering the value of our better players.
  10. Good cv but looking a little bit deeper we should have seen the signs. Knutsen for me.
  11. I wouldn't be getting rid of Roofe. I think he's a good option from the bench and even in a two from the start. He can't lead the line for 90 mins though especially in this side that can't put any quality into the box.
  12. I'll probably calm down but the more time that passes the more I think we just cut our losses on Gio. I fell for the Dutch title win as proof he was quality but strangely for an ex player he doesn't seem to get it at all. I'd go get Knutsen from Bodo. We need a modern manager if we are to progress. Must have the only Dutch guy that doesn't favour the traditional Dutch style of play.
  13. I did say at an absolute push 🤣 he was the only one with urgency for me but aye he probably cost us the second as well with a poor touch. First goal goes down as a collective for me, so many things go wrong in that scenario and embarrassingly it's nowhere near the first time that we fail 3-4 times in giving away a goal.
  14. There is no getting around that. Was it 4 points when he joined? He increased it to 6. To go front here to effectively 7 behind is a shambles. An injury prone centre back isn't going to resolve the issue. We spent the dough for 55 and we've skimped ever since. Gambling on not spending has meant we won't be spending for the foreseeable future.
  15. Should have got their manager when we had the chance.
  16. Whole team were dreadful. Can't give pass marks to any one of them. Maybe Lundstram at an absolute push.
  17. I agree he was poor but Gio basically confirmed his lack of tactics in the pre match. We won't change for Kemar which is stupid. Gio is living off of a great title win at Feyenoord. Would love him to prove me wrong but we won't get back on top under him. This isn't a great outfit we are losing to. That's the biggest issue of all of it. Two best players are on loan. Rest he's signed run about a lot. A modern manager (Knutsen) works them out easily and walks all over them.
  18. Embarrassing. They came with a game plan and we don't have one. Genuinely 50/50 on Gio now. Do we give him a transfer window?
  19. Roofe offside time and time again. Needed him big time today and he's not shown up. celtic are shite but one thing that surprised me was they've defended well. That said, we barely asked the question
  20. Roofe offside time and time again. Needed him big time today and he's not shown up. celtic are shite but one thing that surprised me was they've defended well. That said, we barely asked the question
  21. Big fan of Tav but been disappointing today. How many times has he looked to the sky instead of reacting to the moment.
  22. McGregor unreal save but fucking hell Goldson. Would pull the contract offer. He can fuck off at any point he wants to.
