  1. You didn't answer the question. Which match is "the richest game" ever played? Boro vs Brighton & Hove Albion or Sheff Wed vs Hull City?
  2. Yes. I agree. The top boys in Spain are the best. The rest are honking. Scoring goals in Italy every week is harder than scoring goals in Spain every week. You really lack knowledge. No offence but you don't know football.
  3. "Richest in football"..... criiiiiiiiiiiiiiinge. Btw was the richest... was it boro vs brighton or wenesday vs hull? Or are they both tied for the prestigious title of richest ever game of football?
  4. Aye Barca n Real are right good teams eh!!!! "Strength in depth" look it up. It's easier to score against fodder like Sociedad Getafe & Rayo. Italy is loaded top to bottom with solid teams. There's no easy games.
  5. Indeed. Rehashing old strips is a joke. Maybe its because of the politics.
  6. Anyone who drinks up the "richest game in football" bollox probably voted Yes based on the "facts and figures" in the white paper.
  7. That what you call your Mother's vagina? Must be because it's so unresponsive.
  8. They have cheek to call SSN a "news" channel. It's just a full on promotional tool for exculsive SKY content now. I actually enjoy a bit of MLS. Bot the best quality but it's entertaining. Given the broadcast times though i can't imagine the viewing figures being up to much.
  9. Nothing highlights the utterly ridiculous comparative measures if the play-off more than this: The actual prize money fir finishing first in the Premier League is £24.7m. Winning the championship playoff super bumper mega riches paysout about 8x that. And the Championship has THREE of these mega prizes to give away to 3 lucky winners!! It's therefore the "richest" league in eorld football dishing 3x £200m+ prizes! That's potentially a prize topping a staggering £600m! The richest league in the world. Roll up and spend your last dime. At this rate it will be the billion pound league by 2018 and probably the only football left Sky has the rights to.
  10. It's not 'prize money'. The prize money is 0. The game itself doesn't even sell its allocation. The "richest game in the world" moniker is fag packet stuff that tallies up a number of years of revenue...170m, 200m (sky), up to 290m.... it's a steaming pile of bullshit for the minions to scoff up. Enjoy your breakfast.
  11. It may be lacking a little from the days the league was graced with prime Maldinis & Cannavaros but the league has far far more strength in depth than Spain.
  12. "Middlesbrough and Brighton, if promoted, can expect a revenue increase of at least £170m across the next three seasons." That is from the article YOU posted.
  13. That's what Real get pretty much in the bank right away Take a second to think about what you are comparing: Hull: Forecast revenue over next THREE years after promotion including: TV money, gate reciepts, merchandise, potential future parachute payments, sponsorships. Real: revenues generated from last nights match. How is that a fair comparison? A best guess estimate of what a club can make over THREE years, conviently marketed into the value of a single game. Do a fair comparison. What's the 11th win for Real worth across ALL revenue streams for 3 years? They have a £71m headstart according to you in prize money alone so let's start tallying up those projected merchandise sales and increased ticket and sponsor fees the european champs can charge.
  14. Ok then forget the losses and look at revenue. It didn't even increase 50m the year they went up after beating Derby. I just don't get why people think it's a fair comparison against the value of proper finals when the figure tallied up for the playoff winner is 3 years potential EPL revenue. If you want to go like-for-like how much can Real profit over the next 3 years, in every available income stream, off the back of the 11th European Cup win? All kinds of DVD and shirt sales. The premium their sponsors pay may be increased. Maybe last night was worth 350m for the next 3 years.
  15. Because it's a nonsense. The figures you see for the playoff winner is just a guesstimate of what they can make over the next 4 years. In reality QPR won it in 2014. A year later they posted a 43m quid loss and got punted right back down again. Total hypejob to big up a Sky broadcast.
