  1. I think if you ever venture East, you will find the exact same shock horror towards the Record and the Sun as in here.
  2. I'd swear the cunt in republican garb is Roger from American Dad you know, if you look closely!
  3. Well they try and keep it to a minimum within reason. They still need the big headlines to sell their paper, so they do have to tread on toes now and then, regardless of how sensitive fans are. I don't read it or click on it any more mate regardless.
  4. Starry Plough flag mate. A republican thing to do with united Ireland.
  5. I have to admit, although I despise the Record and the Sun these days, I am not convinced about the motive of the piece. Yes, it tries to lay some blame at the door of Linfield, but it seems to me to be a thinly veiled attack on Celtic fans. The last thing any newspaper wants to do is alienate either side of the Old Firm, so they are always loathe to outright condemn either team, but for me, this is them having a go at Celtic, but trying to make it look like a neutral piece.
  6. As a gambler, it may hurt a wee bit, but I would like all Rangers fans to boycott PP. See if they come out with a similar stance next year when they lose a percentage of their income. It's amazing how even a small loss in revenue can affect the policy of money grabbing Shylocks.
  7. Damn, you keep bamboozling me with your lexicon of insults!. I don't "think" I am philosophical, I am however being philosophical about last night.
  8. I don't answer to wee boys who think using swear words and insults, demanding answers is the way to act like a big boy. To quote your delightful poser-"Fuck are you on about? Who's saying we should have gone over there and defended?" If you could be arsed reading through the thread, you would see that it had been mooted that Pedro should have defended and got his tactics wrong. As for your beautifully worded post above, I never at any point accused you of losing sleep over it, but I did, and do infer that you have some kind of hangup about me being philosophical. Try talking to people as though they were actually in the same room as you, and you will gain more respect as a functioning adult.
  9. Really? Such a sensitive wee soul. Forums are for opinions in case you hadn't realised, and while we all want the best for the team, some deal with adversity better than others. If I was 15, I would lose sleep over this, but I'm not, so you have a choice, deal with it, or don't. Clearly you chose the latter.
  10. That highlights how bad Scottish football is right now, that this is possible. We didn't finish too much higher than StJohnstone, and they look to be going out to a Lithuanian team with a ground capacity of 2500. We need to take it on the chin and regroup and move on. It's done, over. Take a breather for the golf and tennis and let's see how we get on in the league for half a dozen games and see where we are.
  11. I'd like until about Xmas myself, but regardless of how long we give him, he needs to have support for as long as he is here. It is counterproductive otherwise.
  12. It's a cunt, but move on. If Pedro had gone over there and defended, (with a new defensive line) it would have been more dangerous, in theory. Imagine all the fans wondering why we are not going for the jugular and defending a 1-0 lead against the 'part-timers'. They would be up in arms. Getting the first goal would have killed the tie and he was right to pursue it. He is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
  13. Yes, but Shamrock Rovers are not the worst in the world. I see they had a 0-0 at home against them, so they are not terrible. Mate this is where we are. Let the new players get in and get settled, and let them atone for their poor performance.
  14. It happens, regularly! That is football. I actually said to my mate after the first game, that I felt we needed to score over there as I was 100% convinced they would score at home. They may part time, but they could play a bit, and had a team full of young fit guys having a ball. In the 2nd half at Ibrox, they showed a few times they could move the ball, fast, and with only a 1 goal lead, the upset was always a possibility. We can't panic over this.
  15. Really disappointed with the poll so far. It's an old cliche, but he needs time, and he needs support also, from the fans and the board. Look at the tims last year losing to an even weaker team from Gibraltar! Look at Strachan when he took over them also, losing 5-0 to Artmedia in Europe!!!! Then he won 3 titles in a row. It is ridiculous to want him gone when the players don't even know each other yet. They might play in a small country but there truly are no pushovers in these games anymore. We need to let these players and manager get some cohesion, some trust and some breathing space from pressure. They are out of Europe, and now they can and should be able to go away and lick their wounds and come back ready for the domestic season. We clearly are not ready for this step, and if we had won, I have no doubt it would only give false hope and I'm sure we would lose in the following round. It was a bad night, but it is still far too early in the summer to judge them. Dust down and move on.
  16. Well I do realise that to some, the comments may be antagonistic, but you can't keep quiet all the time when brooching a subject that is sensitive. No I am not, and haven't been since the CL game against Unirea about 8 years ago. I seriously did consider it tonight but it wasn't feasible for me. Still looking forward to it! :-)
  17. I accept most of that, but I also accept that most Irish people still feel they have been subjugated for 800 years by England, and latterly, Britain. It is a complex issue, and as such, I think it would be doing the issue a disservice by not attempting to understand the perspective of both sides.
  18. I find it hard to understand given the reason I mentioned. I never said that it is all behind me, I said I am sick of it, and have little time for it, but I reserve the right to comment on it.
  19. Fair enough mate. Although on the subject of Catholics supporting Rangers, I do find it very hard to understand. I know one lad myself, and how he endures all the anti Catholic stuff and remains a fan is beyond me.
  20. I only commented on it as a reaction to the half in jest, whole in earnest quip about having a KIng Billy Tea towel. I accept Rangers are a broad church, and as such I hope that others accept that some people do not automatically hate a person because he/she is a Catholic, in the same way they would like me to accept their values/beliefs. I have made not a lot of posts in here outlining my view on this or that, and have been accuse of being a Taig, being a Taig lover and an IRA apologist, in just the last 24 hours. I try and be civil even if brooching a serious subject, but when you get people resorting to name calling and accusations, it says more about them than anything else.
