  1. Sorry mate, but that reminds me of the guy at the Chelsea/Arsenal game who unfolded his wee placard about Wenger must go etc. He actually took that to the game hoping he would get a chance to use it! I don't subscribe to that way of thinking. We are an average team, badly in need of proper investment, not savage axe wielding.
  2. We don't have a good enough team to win week in week out. We had a really bad start to the season winning only 4 of the first 10 games as we tried to adjust to the new league standard. We then had a good 10 games where we won 7 and drew 2, but have had a rough start to this year. Its a long season and we will have ups and downs, but we have still performed as well as could be expected I'm sure most neutral observers would agree. However, in here I think expectations are too high. Getting rid of Warb will not improve the team. We are relatively skint yet have come from the Championship to be in amongst it with Hearts and Aberdeen. That is a fair start for year 1 back. He has to be given the whole season and the autumn of next. McLeish/Smith/McCoist/Whoever would not improve this squad of players just by turning up as manager.
  3. I hate to hear of anyone dying at such a terribly young age. How did he die?
  4. He seemed fine playing his practise rounds. Always seems to pull out after playing shit!
  5. Definitely not time up for him. I don't care what anyone says, to move from the championship to the SPL is difficult, but he has done a decent job. We are sitting in 2nd place, clearly miles off the pace, but still up with the team that stopped us coming up 2 years ago, and the only team to challenge the scum over the last few years! I'd say that is a fair attempt in the first season back! The money he has had has been nothing like the money required to catch them up, and he has been unlucky with Barton and Kran. If we were languishing in 5th or 6th, i may feel differently, but we are sitting 2nd. Ok Hearts have a bit of an Indian sign over us just now, but it will pass. Give the guy a break.
  6. That is exactly how he would look and exactly where he would be if he hadn't been lucky enough to be a footballer.
  7. Not a huge fan of It, but tend to get into it on the final day.
  8. He was a terrible signing. I have never seen the guy play a decent game in all his time at Arsenal. Hopefully he improves, but I'm not too confident of that.
  9. I pretty much agree with intial post. For me the score completely flattered them. I thought we were ok for most of the game, and basically the 3rd goal and then Senderos' sending off killed the game. Up until those points, I thought they were better, but not exactly brilliant themselves. On the day, they took their chances and had a striker on a very good 'on' day. Sometimes that happens when a player can't miss, just a shame it happened yesterday. At 3-1 they had their tails up, and we had our heads down, and they pinched a couple of cheap goals. It's a shame, but we will get over it, and if we can take anything from the game, it is surely that bringing in 'experienced mercenaries' is not the route to go down. We are definitely behind them, but after 6 straight Champions League defeats, they will come back down to earth pretty rapid. Time to roll up the sleeves, and get on with it. For me the league was always an unrealistic target. Yes, go for it, but it is too disrespectful to the other SPL teams to presume we would come back and pick up where we left. I said in one of my first posts a few weeks back I expected to be in the top 4 at the end of the season, I still think that would be not too bad, and anything above that a bonus, and hopefully keep improving and maybe next year we will be more ready.
  10. I think it is unfair to 'expect' more than that. I know what we all want, but I think people need to keep their feet on the ground. I won't be happy with top 4, but I won't be gutted either. For me, 2nd or 3rd would be a decent season, and 1st would be stuff of dreams.
  11. Same for me. I don't expect to win this year, in fact I think anyone thinking it is realistic to win the league is being too optimistic. I've said before I expect top 4. Obviously the higher the better, but Warburton has earned the right to not get flak for not winning this season.
  12. Definitely mate, but that doesn't mean I have to stick my head in the sand and say I think we will win it when I don't. If we do, I will be ecstatic, but, as I said, I'm not confident of doing so. Hope I'm wrong though, obviously.
  13. I don't understand what you don't understand.
  14. Yes, it is a fantastic goal, and such a pity a better film of it isn't out there. Has to be up there. The best goal I witnessed with my own eyes was Chris Burke against St Johnstone in the league cup, can't remember the year. Never seen it on film, but from what I remember, he lobbed someone near the half way lline and ran onto it and scored over the top of the keeper from about 25 yards. At the time, I thought it was amazing, but maybe time has embellished it a bit.
  15. Do you have to say you are confident of having a fantastic season or you aren't a real fan?
  16. Cautiously optimistic about the season ahead. Honestly, I don't think we will win the league, but as long as we show we are still improving, and comfortably make top 4 or something, I won't be too disappointed.
