  1. Sin bin for how long? Ten mins is mentioned often ( as a sin bin length ), so a team is a goal down with two minutes to go, people will still dive and take the risk. Carry any minutes remaining over until the next game he is picked for, so if he had done three in the match, he is off for the first seven of the next, would that work? I don't think players care about embarrassment any more, judging by what I see on a weekly basis.
  2. The Burnley manager thinks it would wipe out diving in six months, yet it has been used in Scotland since 2011 and players still dive. There will also be the same problems in England where the rule will apply to certain clubs, but not Man Utd, Chelsea etc. If it was an entirely seperate body from the Premier League ( eg: not under pressure to favour the big clubs ) overseeing it and had the ability to remove points from teams that had gained from a dive, there may be a chance of it being stopped.
  3. My boys team when playing u15s lost 9-0 to a good side, the next week they played against the same team and lost 3-2. Still a defeat, but a marked improvement, and that was kids with one training hour in midweek. The players in Rangers shirts yesterday had a week of training and were professionals, yet they got worse. Tactics, formation and players attitudes all wrong in my opinion.
  4. Fair point, but he didn't/ couldn't do it Sunday, the early yellow curtailed him maybe? However, maybe I should have said combatative as a description.
  5. Everyone has their own opinion and I stand by mine. if Fabrergas had played on Sunday in place of Emerson, do you think the score would have been diferent then? You didn't have any meaningful possession to pass it to him. Therefore he would have been redued to a battle to try to win the ball. If you think Fabregas is a midfield ball winner then fair enough, as I said everyone has their opinion, personally I don't, which is why I said you need a eff off big brute in midfield to take on players like Brown, then give the ball to the creative players. Skill wise, obviously Fabregas wins. If he was receiving the ball then taking on Brown, that is never a doubt. Does that make it easier for people to see what I meant,
  6. That wasn't how I meant it, skill wise they are both better than brown, I meant in a battle, it's not their type of play, they are creative not combatative mids. But I take the criticism.
  7. Yes he was, I have said before he hasn't stepped up against the better clubs. However on Sunday if you had put Fabregas up against Brown he would have lost out. As others have said, you need an eff off big bastard in midfield to take players like Brown on and then give the ball to people like Hyndman, McKay to do what they do and create. A ll that being said I want the Rangers friendly,,, Oh and down at Bournemouth would suit me fine.
  8. Having only seen the highlights, I wonder if the referee has put in his report that it was not just the tackle, but retaliation for the foul on Brown by Boyce seconds earlier ( which the ref dealt with by a yellow ). If so then any appeal has less chance of being successful or should have.
  9. That's a good shout, in my opinion, and you could always put the difference ( or some of it ) into something that goes straight to the club or Rangers lotto maybe?
  10. Eddie Howe really rates him ( as one to develop ) and he has three years left of his contract. As far as I am aware Bournemouth do not want or need to sell him. I can see only two things that could make this happen; 1/ the player himself wants the move, in my opinion, doubtful. 2/ a totally stupid high bid ( around 8 million by the English market ), because every player has a price.
  11. Ruben Loftus-Cheek is the only Chelsea player who has come through the youth set up lately. He has been there since 2004 and is 21 and, shock, he has never been on loan (yet ) and made 19 appearances for them. Much as it pains me to say it, but them up the road from Bournemouth, do have a fantastic record of bringing youngsters through, you could add Alan Shearer to that list from a few years ago as well. Lallana must have been some stand out player at 12 because, when they poached/ induced him from Bournemouth, someone had the foresight to put a sell on clause which I am sure netted a 7 figure sum when he went to Liverpool.
  12. You need a good manager as well. Bournemouth, purely due to having no money at the time, offered their youth coach the managers job ( I think they expected to be relegated from the league that year and finally go bust) It proved to be a masterstroke for them and with the help of a bit of Russian investment ( I think it was about 30 million to get from league 1 to the PL ) and some good player recruitment and coaching, a really small club is now trading it with the big boys and I think stands to make 117 million from this season and would even get 64 million spread over the next three years should they get relegated. However, for all that money, they will never ( I doubt ) play in the Champions league, whereas Rangers, with a good manager ( Pedro maybe? ), would not take that much investment to get there. However it has to be the right investors Portsmouth were effed by some Russians, Blackpool by Oyston, after getting the PL money he trousered it. Was it Hearts up here ( I know you will say they deserved it ) that got in trouble after foreign investment?
  13. Slightly off topic but, just lately I have been looking at clips of a certain song on Youtube. There is one ( from Hampden? ) that starts with" the bouncey" then goes into the Famous song. What I love is a guy in red, who must be my age (ish), giving it loads of passion. I can just imagine him being in the 1988 clip in the hordes of Gers fans.
  14. As others have said, it depends on the budget. However, if he is thinking (or even has started his badges ) of coaching then, maybe, a player/coach role would be good.
  15. Even the pundits see everything different, Sky, had him as a 6 ( same as McKay ) BBC had him an 8.
