  1. i'm unconvinced about frank de-boer - his lack of experience would worry me... if we were going to do something different then someone like kenny miller as player/manager with a strong DOF acting as mentor would be a better option
  2. pretty much where I'd have expected us to be in the league even though at times we have not performed as you'd have expected. something to build on for next season, remember the way is down when you reach the top. new season, new ambitions & new hope.
  3. I reckon this is a great point, for me Jimmy Calderwood ticks this box - surely he could fill the vacant role until end of season with a view to longer-term appointment?
  4. probably the only world class player in our squad, the news he is back in training is great news - let's hope a speedy return to the first team
  5. i think you have over-simplified the situation. what about the media and their part in all this? poor refereeing this season has cost us also... Mr Murty should be given a chance to unite the squad as you say above. good post though.
  6. I don't think it is a statistic of much value or merit. arguably we could have a worse ratio and be top of league - and if you're still not sure then look at the table and compare it to league table, it is not even close.
  7. Thought this deserved a thread of it's own as I wanted to talk about manager / DOF and longer term plans & strategy. Lots of talk about possible managers - i think the club should take their time to get the right person rather the wrong manager quickly, we don't want to start next season badly prepared or in a worse situation. I'd keep Mr Murty as manager until end of season. Pros: -nothing to lose, unlikely to win league now -no additional cost -perhaps he can bring through a few from youth set-up who deserve a chance -he seems honest with this in mind i think we should focus on DOF. Look for someone with experience and achievement, charisma, club knowledge and popular with the fans. Craig Brown would be my choice. Let's see the season out, prepare for next season. new manager in the summer and revitalise the support. Good planning, no rash moves. Take a little pain now but longer term it would pay off
  8. Good statement.... welcoming to see that they are not sitting back doing nothing, statement is far better than nothing at all
  9. Pardew would be fantastic option, could definitely instill stability and has links to a lot of good players. would love to see him take charge. as far as DOF goes we should be looking for someone with bags of experience from top to bottom and who has achieved lots in the game but somewhere between dressing room and board. bit of a leftfield option but I'd like to see craig brown come in, and pardew managing the team- we could do a lot worse.
  10. this is absolutely baffling chat there is no real evidence that the loans are a long term strategy. other running costs are covered by matchday revenue and season ticket income. plus King & others have too much to lose to let things get worse... this is a long term game, we need to keep our heads up
