Bad Robot reacted to a post in a topic: Return of Pena
-
Carlos Pena is a footballer, who doesn’t want to play football. He wants a job that starts at 12 and finishes at 1, with an hour for lunch. Pena could well be an absolutely tremendous forward, but he simply doesn’t respect authority. It’s a shame, cos we all have seen glimpses of his quality. But so have we seen glimpses with Lee Hodson. Soooooo. Pena is an enigma and a lost cause. If we get rid, it will be a settlement, no one in their right mind will buy him.

The 94-96 shirt. Kinda prefer the slightly darker tops. But just the Adidas design was great.

would we have been better off if pedro had stayed?

Pedro is probably still a good manager. The problem however, much like Mark Warburton, is that his lack of tactical foresight and big game record was pure jobbies. Both were gentlemen to the club and the fans and I wanted them both to succeed, however results are what they are. Both of them couldn’t handle the simple concept of “Scottish fitbaw”. It’s a fairly simple game up here, win by any means necessary. And we tried to play football, whilst everyone else tried to win. And that is fundamentally the difference between those who fail and those who succeed in this...”tin pot league.” -
So. Played most of the first season with the same squad as is, plus Moult. 13 straight wins, few draws. Got Bordeaux in the Euro playoff round and got beat 3-2 overall so no Europe for me. Had a dip in form throughout Christmas and was given the ultimatum of 10 points in 5 games. Done that in 4 games. March roles around and lose 1 game, draw 1 game and they sack me. Immediately move in Derek McInnes. So clearly they were after any excuse to boot me. So, might start a new save and try different tactics and employ more players. My problem was injuries, they were constantly staggered over time and my defense suffered big time. So, more players to be bought and loaned in next time.

There are loads more on SoundCloud. But it's basically them just given each other pelters. Love this podcast tho it talks a lot of sense.

If he had known what Mike Ashley done to Newcastle, then that kind of bollocks shouldn't have rolled out his face hole. aye, I want someone with cash at the helm of Rangers. But not someone who is going to siphon the club dry.

Our first team need form, absolutely zero consistency at the minute and that is hurting us most. in terms of January, we need squad players who will actually contribute something positive. Much like last season our injuries are leaving so weak all around the park, we would be as well bringing on the youth or recalling loans. The team, I have no doubts about in terms of quality, still needs improvements all over the place. That will only happen when 3 things collide. 1. King gets his hand in HIS pocket 2. The staff help the players understand the tactics 3. Pedro and DOF have a serious look at who we need exactly, and buy exactly that player. Because I honesty feel Declan, like Senderos was a panick buy. And that's the last thing we need.

Hahahhaaahaha Jesus Christ ?

Pedro shook hands with some of them but did he shake hands with all of them? Never got to see the end bit
-
This is seemingly a common theme from the Warburton team. Matt Crooks came in and barely got a sniff at the first team, then was shipped out on loan for whatever reason.

There is a potential positive from this. That it's only until the end of this season. Does the puma deal end this season also? - If so then there's a chance at gaining a better kit for next season.

Our frontmen let us down big time. And for all the praise I have given the midfield and defence lately, it's absolutely unfair to expect them to provide every game and for Kenny Miller to miss chance after chance and for Morelos to fuck off to the wing to try and beat players. We didn't take many risks today for fear of being beat on the counter, and that's fair enough but at somepoint you have to have a punt from far or make better movements to break the defence apart. Anything. Something. So many times we relied on the wings today and that played right into Heart's tactics, they were fine with that. That meant they could pile the players into their box to stop the attacks and it worked. After the 1st half I said that we weren't scoring today. And I was right. He must come up with a plan B, or else this is just a Mexican Warburton. No plan B and brutal tactics.

The width of a post and an incompetent referee.

I certainly haven't given up on the season. I have faith in the improvements made by Pedro certainly. But some of our football was woeful later into the game to the point we were constantly fucking the ball up the park to no cunt. It makes it hard to watch. But again, shite day, shite result and that doesn't mean the season is done. The late goal from Tav showed some fight we had in us at least. Which is something we certainly lacked throughout last season.
