BBC SCOTLAND have admitted to a gaffe in a radio segment about Mo Johnston’s controversial move to Rangers.
But the Beeb’s Good Morning Scotland show mistakenly referred to the striker as Gers’ first EVER Catholic player.
The inaccuracy was repeated on Twitter by presenter Gary Robertson.
BBC Scotland News PR’s account wrote: “The programme (Good Morning Scotland) and tweet should have referred to Maurice Johnston as the first ‘high-profile’ Catholic player to sign for Rangers.
“Thank you to all who brought this to our attention.”

Several Catholic players were on the books at Rangers before Johnston, including Don Kitchenbrand, Hugh O’Neill and John Spencer.
South African striker Kitchenbrand signed in 1955 and scored 24 goals in 25 league games as Gers romped to the title, earning 'The Rhino' nickname.

Not sure how I feel about this. While in some ways we do have  a discipline issue given the number of cards we’ve had, there is no way all of our red and yellow cards were justified, and there were some outrageous fouls against us going totally unpunished. 
My concern here is that Gerrard has almost given officials carte blanche to target our players by essentially admitting we have a problem. I feel it puts us on the back foot a bit, and is almost inviting attention onto our discipline. I feel it might have been better keeping it inside the squad but time will tell. 

Personally I think he should have kept those thoughts to himself.
