  1. Not going to pick faults. We went toe to toe with a very decent side and could easily have won. Give Clement a summer window, his own pre-season, and let him replace players like Dessers with more quality. We could achieve something special.
  2. A player who's not good enough for us can still show up in flashes. I'm sure Herrera, Barker, and Rossiter had their moments.
  3. This comes up every time. Nobody hates him and we'd all like to see him do well, but he's a winger who basically never creates anything (look at his assists record). He also makes mistakes that I wouldn't expect from a player at Hearts or Kilmarnock, let alone Rangers.
  4. If we do something special this season, it's going to be genuinely incredible to look back and think "we did that with Dessers as our only fit striker for a pretty decent length of time".
  5. We've got to be one of the biggest overperformers in Europe, relative to budget, in recent years.
  6. That's an appalling pass by Wright. Takes a promising attack and puts us on the back foot because he can't complete a simple pass.
  7. I'd be quite confident about the second half if we had a better striker than Dessers.
  8. Roofe's got to be one of our best paid players. Excited to see who we bring in this summer when that salary's freed up (and hopefully Lammers + Dessers off the wage bill too).
  9. Know it's some way off still but I'm really looking forward to seeing Danilo up + running under Clement next season.
  10. Why not? There are a lot of variables, what's wrong with saying 'if X happens, I hope we do Y'. It's like saying '"if we win the league this season, we should buy Shankland" or "if Sima's back early we should try this formation". There's no guarantee of any of it but we're discussing possible outcomes. Edit: definitely not trying to open up the Shankland conversation again. Just an example.
  11. Okay, but you keep ignoring that I've said we should only increase our ceiling for transfers if we've qualified for the CL 2-3 seasons in a row, and started to see the fruits of the player trading model. In other words, if our financial situation changes substantively, I'm hopeful our ambitions develop too. Buying for £8M and selling for £16M is obviously an extreme example, but - for the £7M loss we took on Kent - we've lost a hell of a lot more buying multiple, net-loss duds for £1-3M. I also wouldn't expect the current administration to manage something like Kent's contract in such an idiotic way. I don't think it's unrealistic to suggest that 2-3 years of consist success under Clement (and the associated income) would/should open the door to us pushing the boat out on a £10-11M player.
