  1. Great moment at the end as Gerrard demonstrated real class in waiting to shake the hand of EVERY player, from both sides, as they came off. When he got to Tav, he said something to him that meant a lot to them both and there was warmth in the handshake and arm round the shoulder. Tav then moves on to McAllister for a proper hug and another wee word or two. Genuine respect and affection.

Been a long time since I’ve seen that spirit in our club.

Gentlemen, there will be challenges to be overcome and foes to be defeated but I am certain of one thing tonight - we are on our way back

I was aware that Gordon Ramsay seemingly had a promising career before apparently a bad injury.

Anyone else recognised in this 1995 photo?

McCoist in the tracksuit, Derek Ferguson front left with the bad hair and the wee guy front middle would appear to someone called “Alex Minty”

Ive not felt this excited about a a manger since Walter and I'm sure I heard a story about Walter actually going to Gazzas house in Italy to convince him to come to us. Hopefully Gerrard will bring us the same success!

Mind you, I can remember a certain diddy manager trailing to Portugal to personally escort Cardoso to Scotland so it’s no guarantee that things will work out OK!

But there’s a confidence, a swagger which is just the right side of the line from being too cocky, oozing from Gerrard and it is infectious.

The meltdown across the city is already starting IMO (big signing is the return of a 32 year old left back they parped a year ago FFS) and that banner at the Glitterdome tells you they’re feeling it.

  4. Not convinced he’s been fit since he got here. Trying too hard to please when he should have been building his strength.

Get him fully fit, a mini close-season if you like, couple of reserve games and see how he goes for final thirty once or twice.

At his best, he’s too good to throw away without seeing what difference Gerrard and McAllister make to him.

  5. Superb piece, D’art, as usual.

What gets me is how brazen this contempt for our club and our support has become. And across so many areas of life.

I complained to the BBC about the hatchet job phone-in they cobbled together on the morning of the Flanagan signing, the tone being that Rangers must condone domestic abuse if they sign him. Eventually got a nice wee email telling me to, and I paraphrase here, “fuck off”.

The abuse is no longer veiled or in need of interpretation, it is blatant.

The only thing that will change how we are treated is success and prolonged success at that. When we’re back on top, they’ll crawl back wanting invites to the party.

It is then we must be strong and neither forget nor forgive.

  6. Regardless of how well Barisic does, we have undergone a transformation in next to no time.

Foderingham, Hodson, Cardoso, Alves, Martin, Pena, Holt, Krancjar, Waghorn, Cummings, Herrera. Subs Wallace, Goss, Bates, Garner

A full team of dross gone (or going) and we now have :

McGregor, Tavernier, Goldson, Katic, Barisic, Flanagan, Jack, Coulibaly, Arfield, Candieas, Morelos. Subs Alnwick, Simpson (young CB from Bournemouth on his away by all accounts), Wallace, Dorrans, Rossiter, Murphy, Kent, Ejaria.

    Night And fucking day.

    Well done all concerned ?:UK:

Hadn't realised he'd been hospitalised.   Hope he recovers quickly.

Hospitalised and the referee took no action over the assault.   Hospitalised...…..wonder if anyone from Aberdeen football club had the decency to ask Rangers if Jack was ok.  I doubt it.   As SG said about the officiating...….(I think it was something like) 'if that's the way its going to be then we'll deal with it'.

Their scum fans were too busy singing “nice one Stevie”

And this is their own former captain getting taken out.

Fucking lowlife dregs that support the sheep

What a difference a year makes. Coulibaly, Jack & Arfield is a strong midfield. Gonna make things hard for Rossitter & Dorrans when they get fit.

Should that fourth last word not be “if”?

Rangers own Edmiston House and it should be turned into a multi-use facility.  Megastore on ground floor, cafe /sports bar on second level and Museum on top floor.  They could put the ticket office back into it at the rear where it used to be.  I've been lobbying for it for some years.   If we could get someone to sponsor it that would help with the initial cost.

Yeah, wouldn’t have a problem with someone like an IT/comms company but no more bookies. That bubble has to burst soon.

The blue room only holds 10% of what the club has and could display, the rest is in storage, which is no use tbh.

Surely we have land at Auchenhowie that could be used to build a museum.

The old Rangers club (AKA Morley’s etc) is crying out to be a museum, cafe, visitor centre not only for us to use but for tourists in the same way we visit the Bernabeu or the Nou Camp If you’re over on a city break. Get it into the “Ten things to visit in Glasgow” tourist bumff.

Also don’t underestimate the subliminal effect of constantly celebrating our legends and heroics of the past as we continue the fight against the “you’re not Rangers anymore” fundamentalist nutjobs. Every visitor, every mention of such a place, every event we held there erodes the lie and ridicules the Mad Phil disciples.

Not sure who owns it these days but it’s the obvious place to start.
