Boab
Feb 20 2009 By Jack Mathieson RANGERS great Jock Wallace is to have a plaque in his honour erected in the village of his birth. The bronze memorial on Wallyford Community Centre, in East Lothian, describes him as "one of Rangers' greatest managers". It adds that he "stood supreme as a leader and motivator of men". Wallace was Rangers boss twice - from 1972-78 and 1983-86. In his first stint, he guided the club to three league titles, two Scottish Cups and two League Cups, including the domestic treble in 1976 and 1978. He also managed Berwick Rangers, Leicester City, Motherwell, Sevilla and Colchester United. Wallace was born in Wallyford in 1935. He died in 1996 at the age of 60. Alister Hadden, of Wallyford Community Council, said: "This is about the recognition of people from Wallyford who have achieved great things." http://www.<No links to this website>/football/spl/...86908-21137818/

Jelle1880
A statue at Ibrox would be a bit too much I think, we already have one and two seems a bit over the top (imo). What I would do is something they did at my local club, on the inside of one of the stands they have a huge plaque with pictures of all the legends of the club. I see your point of more than one maybe being a bit much. There will be lots of Wallace-related stuff inside Ibrox. But a great gesture by his hometown. It will recieve a good few visitors to take pics of the statue I would think.
