GOAT Posted February 23, 2009 Share Posted February 23, 2009 Well under the freedom of Information act I e-mailed Lothian Police and asked them how many arrests where made in or around the stadium for sectarian or racially motivated offences... Dear Mr XXXXXXXXXX Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 Request for Information Thank you for your e-mail dated 28 January 2009 requesting information which has been dealt with under the above Act. I can confirm that two people were arrested at this football match, however neither of the arrests were for sectarian or racially motivated offences. If you have any questions about the above or I can help in any other way, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me again. However, under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, you have the right to appeal if you are dissatisfied with the way in which we have dealt with your enquiry. This should be done within 40 working days of receiving this email. If you wish to appeal please contact Rachel Watson, Head of Force Information Unit, Lothian and Borders Police, Police Headquarters, Fettes Avenue, Edinburgh, EH4 1RB. I was thinking of contacting Strathclyde District Council (and/or Glasgow City Council) to ascertain the annual cost of transporting thousands of children all over the region to faith schools.
