Thermopylae Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 You would think 2 such big personalities going head to head would be constantly tearing lumps out of each other but by and large they seem to get on ok. They do have little spats of course but they never let it go too far and I wonder if this is because they both know that the special one will be the next manager at Old Trafford when Fergie's work is done. It will be interesting to see how they get on tonight only yards away from each other on the touchline
Polo Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 I reckon Fergie respects him. And Jose's always up for slating Wenger which is bound to go down well with Fergie!
Thermopylae Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 It's almost like a father son thing with Fergie and Jose with Wenger being the annoying old woman who lives next door
JimmyCR1 Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 It's almost like a father son thing with SAF and Jose with Wenger being the annoying old woman who lives next door LOL Alot of it probably is because they have so much respect for one another, not many managers have a record that murinho has over fergie
Thermopylae Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 Fergie will definitely want to put that right ... this really could be one of the great games that people talk about for years

papaguy51 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Complete respect. I also think Ferguson will instruct Man Utd to appoint Mourinho once he leaves and they'll continue to be unstoppable.
J_RFC87 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Yea, I've read in a few articles that SAF wants JM to replace him at Man Utd to keep up the legacy.
Fiogh Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Complete respect. I also think Ferguson will instruct Man Utd to appoint Mourinho once he leaves and they'll continue to be unstoppable. Very different managers though, wonder how the fans will take to his 'style' and the fact he was chelski boss.
ManchestGer Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 They've both got a lot of experience as well so even though they may play mind games and constantly have digs at one another both know what they are doing
Blue Stars Bearette Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 its been so boring without Jose...hope he comes back over soon
Fiogh Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 its been so boring without Jose...hope he comes back over soon This is based purely on football and personality, nothing to do with his appearance aye?
scottrfcuk Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Complete respect. I also think Ferguson will instruct Man Utd to appoint Mourinho once he leaves and they'll continue to be unstoppable. exactly! was talking about that with my old man last night... Perfect man to take over at united
TMWWBK Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 IMO, Mourinho will be in Manchester whilst Ferguson is still at Man Utd. Managing Man City. It's clear TADG don't really see Hughes as the manager to turn them into the side that they want to be. There's already been mutterings about them tempting Benitez and more unrealistically, Wenger, to Eastlands. They seem to want a charismatic top dog who knows the British game, Mourinho fits the bill perfectly.
Scott-RFC Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Complete respect. I also think Ferguson will instruct Man Utd to appoint Mourinho once he leaves and they'll continue to be unstoppable. Just checked the odds on Mourinho being next permanent Man Utd boss, 4/1, absolutely shit odds
plymouthranger Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 O'Neill to be next Man Utd. boss. Hes the best british manager at the moment, other than SAF and possibly Owen Coyle (although a bit early yet to say that)
Thermopylae Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 its been so boring without Jose...hope he comes back over soon You just like his suave latin good looks

Good call ... even for someone with an ego the size of Mourinho's following SAF may be a tall order ... after all Fergie himself would probably have found it harder had he went to Anfield rather than Old Trafford
CanadianGer Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 O'Neill to be next Man Utd. boss. Hes the best british manager at the moment, other than SAF and possibly Owen Coyle (although a bit early yet to say that) I don't think the Glazers will be doing that any time soon. Certain people were always saying that when he was with the scum and how Fergie was going to step aside and let him in. But I don't believe for a minute that Glazer cares that the next manager be British. He'll want a manager that consistently wins trophies and can handle superstars. Buying guys like Sutton and Hartson and making them play well as a unit took MON a long way. But its a very different job when you are trying to get big egos to cooperate and gel as a group. MON's track record looks a lot less impressive when you aren't interested in Scottish football. "Ok, so he took one of the two teams that have won the league every single year between them for 20 years and won the League a few times? Great. Which league? Oh. And did he win every single year, back to back? Hmm, but there's a little ginger guy who has won three in a row? Well, let me speak to him!" I think not.
Thermopylae Posted February 28, 2009 Author Posted February 28, 2009 Absolutely, the Glazers probably won't even look at his record up here
