Bobby Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 any links to a table? surely boyd is in with a shout!
BlueSuedeSambas Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 The last time I looked at the table, Marc Janko was running away with it. I expect that Eto'o, Villa, Messi, Janko and Anelka are all ahead of Boyd at the moment.
BlueSuedeSambas Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Here's a link to the table. http://www.worldsoccer.com/esm/esmgoldenshoe.php
Bobby Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 They stopped it when McCoist got the pair. cant seem to find a current table anywhere
Bobby Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 pssst look above you sorry looks like he will need 40+ to have a hope then
martin93 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 So i take it the league you play in has an effect on the points you can earn.
Bobby Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 yep, suppose it makes sense, tho it makes it tough for boyd. still in with a shout i would think tho.
TMWWBK Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Old Marco 'Il Principe' Di Vaio is having a bit of renascence this year i see. We were in for him before just before he signed for Monaco on loan.
papaguy51 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 7= André-Pierre Gignac Toulouse (Fra) 15 2 30 Baaahaaahaa! FM Legend
ManchestGer Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 You would need to score some goals to win the golden boot from one of the smaller leagues like Scotland
TMWWBK Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 7= André-Pierre Gignac Toulouse (Fra) 15 2 30 Baaahaaahaa! FM Legend Superb talent. He'll be Lyon bound at the end of the year for sure. I was shocked that i was the only one that mentioned him in the "Two strikers from every league" thread.

He's one of the most composed finishers I've ever seen.
Orangeclement Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 a player from scotland would need to score 50-60 goals to have a chance of winning the golden boot due to the stupid point scoring system. english prem player scores 30 goals and gets 60 points scots prem player scores 30 goals and gets 45 points
Fremlin Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Spare a thought for Chris Sharp of Bangor City, he has 20 goals also and is in joint 47th position. Think how many he would need to score to win!
Right_To_Censor Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 a player from scotland would need to score 50-60 goals to have a chance of winning the golden boot due to the stupid point scoring system. english prem player scores 30 goals and gets 60 points scots prem player scores 30 goals and gets 45 points how many did ally get on his first run and then his second run?
Poetry_In_Blue Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 a player from scotland would need to score 50-60 goals to have a chance of winning the golden boot due to the stupid point scoring system. english prem player scores 30 goals and gets 60 points scots prem player scores 30 goals and gets 45 points how many did ally get on his first run and then his second run? 34 goals both times when he won it What must be pointed out though, is that he was an unoficial winner as between 91 and 96 following a protest from they Cyprus FA there were no official winners, then in 1996 they changed the rules to being 2 points for some of the tougher leagues and 1.5 points for the SPL and similar leagues.
FlippinEck Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Janko is 2nd and he is on the same points calculations method as scotland, so boyd would have to match that at least to jump the table Boyd has been 2 and/or and 3rd on the list before though hasnt he?
ibroxwonder Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 I believe recently there was an estonian league player scored 40-something, and still didn't win due to the points, as it's a 1x multiplier for them
Bakoni Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 I presume the amount of league games in each country makes no difference then.
Muff Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 With the lack of quality in the SPL, Boyd should be scoring more goals.
dummiesoot Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 With the lack of quality in the SPL, Boyd should be scoring more goals. That must also be true for Miller, Novo, Lafferty, Naismith, and JCD and Cousin last year Muff or does your comment only work for Boyd?
