blyth
Apologies if this is the wrong section, but the film about Zizou is just about to start on BBC 4 (Freeview channel 9) I've never seen it but I'm absolutely fascinated by the concept, it will be a joy to see the greatest player of my generation in such great detail! Anyone seen it before? I've actually heard mixed reviews but I couldn't call on too many expert opinions like I can on here!

ShootSpeedKillLight
Is this the one that Mogwai did the soundtrack to? Looks quite interesting if it's the same one I'm thinking of.
Boab
Its getting v+ed. I am looking forward to this as I've always wanted to see it. Will watch it tomorrow.

TMWWBK
Utterly overwhelming piece and the purest possible depiction of football. What makes it fascinating is how 'normal' the actual game is. It's just Madrid taking on an average Villareal side. The camera work and the focus of Zidane.. it's incredible. Well worth a watch.

Allzo
Noticed this about ten minutes ago. Looks.. strange.
TMWWBK
By the way, everyone of my mates who i've made watch this says it's utter, utter abstract bollocks. I'm just biased.
blyth
Is that a young Pepe Reina in goal for El Submarino Amarillo?
ShootSpeedKillLight
I'm finding it oddly compelling so far. It's a strange comparison, but some of the zooming/panning camerawork reminds me of the Shining.
blyth
Zidane's movement is just so languid, it's so relaxing just watching it! Also the fact that he very rarely shouts for the ball is quite startling, although in saying that if I was playing alongside him I'd pass to him every time, regardless of him calling for it or not. Really enjoying this so far.
papaguy51
He glides along that park, remarkably graceful for a 6'2 powerhouse. I love his traditional chest down and first time control with the sole of his foot, complete Zidane trademark.
TMWWBK
Just stuck it on, it's been ages since i seen it. Haha, Pavon. Lovely Pavon. Madrid's very own Sebo. The best part is when Zizou gets sent off at the end. I'm sure Samuel gets sent off as well.
TMWWBK
Just as i enter that post, Pavon gives away a penalty in the footage.
ShootSpeedKillLight
The music is wonderful, even if it is 5 hairy tims who have a song called 'Scotland's shame' creating it.
Boab
Haha, Pavon. Lovely Pavon. Madrid's very own Sebo. I remember years ago when my pal and I in high school used to say pavon either loudly or under our breath in class when something was poor - great banter! blyth
Haha, Pavon. Lovely Pavon. Madrid's very own Sebo. I remember years ago when my pal and I in high school used to say pavon either loudly or under our breath in class when something was poor - great banter! I might be utterly wrong here, but did the press not have some way of describing the combination of 'Los Galacticos' with the other young players that involved Pavon? 'Galacticos y Pavones' or something? I know it wasn't really meant as a dig at him, but I always considered it quite funny that they titled it this way. They might aswell have said: 'the good players and the shite young players'. p.s. Was that Borja Valero I spied there?
papaguy51
Pavon I remember that, along with my mates, we used to declare that we were 'away for a Pavon' shortly before going to the loo for a shite. He really was that average.
MisterC
The music is wonderful, even if it is 5 hairy tims who have a song called 'Scotland's shame' creating it. Mogwai went way down in my estimation for that....
