simplythebestest
When I first began to dislike Walter this time round I thought - he's too reserved, he respects the opposition too much. In a way, he's too sensible. But I reckon tonight's result was what made the penny drop. He isn't too sensible, he is incredibly reckless. He has thrown many millions at a team who's approach is defensive - that's crazy!! Ultimately, defensive teams are cheap to construct (like Inverness!). He also continually selects players who are a) severely out of form or b) very very poor players. He's a MAVERICK!! In my opinion, a good and sensible manager could do wonders with even this team by good selection and by making just a couple of changes. Someone who can wrangle bargains from his old club or someone with a rep that even just a few good players would follow in the door willingly. Someone who can nurture youth players and gives them a fair chance. Before anyone says "What, like Le Guen?", don't just dismiss the notion. nvager
Walter has his faults - plenty - see Kaunas and Tonight - but he did a great job rescuing our season after PLG left a disaster in place.
GOAT
He's certainly something that rhymes with maverick.

Did he actually leave a disaster? Does anyone remember the season before?
